When I entered AA to get sober I had no belief in God. My sponsor told me I needed to meditate to a higher power and she said my higher power could be anything (even suggested I could pray to a chair 😮). I decided to pray to THE God, the same Jesus I know today… I created my relationship with Jesus without formally being led to Him, or knowing or understanding who He is in the Bible…essentially, I met Jesus without ever picking up a Bible until 10 yrs later… I fell in love w Him before He fully revealed himself to me… Jesus meets His sheep where they are, speaks to them at their level… I was in the process of being sanctified without knowing it… I love Jesus more than anything… He met me in my muck and mire and walked with me patiently… He is a gracious, merciful and long suffering Jesus… God bless you all 🙏

I’m glad He met you there. He rescued me outside the church, but I had at least some knowledge from growing up. But I’ve also come across many in your position who developed a Jesus in their own image, and He doesn’t look like how He revealed Himself. So it’s not the ideal that people should avoid understanding Scripture or grow outside the body of Christ Himself.

This guy is an example of why elders need to be "elder" lol, and probably pastors should be as well. The wisdom and self-restraint in his speech are remarkable. Thanks, brother, for your work and obedience to the Holy Spirit.

How elder does one need to be an elder? But I generally agree
@TheSpiritualParentingPodcast6 ай бұрын
@Dan-ch8kv that is a good question. One of the descriptions of an elder says that they raised their family right. 1 Timothy 3:4-6 NASB1995 [4] He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity [5] (but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?), [6] and not a new convert, so that he will not become conceited and fall into the condemnation incurred by the devil. So old enough to judge how he has done with his family. One of the funny things is that he says that they shouldn't be a new believer but everyone in the book of Acts was a new believer because the church had just started. Maybe he considered older men of Jewish faith who believe in Jesus weren't new believers.
@Dan-ch8kv6 ай бұрын
@@TheSpiritualParentingPodcast that makes sense. I do think the age issue isn’t a massive factor since he told Timothy not to let anyone put him down for his age. And having kids is a factor for those who have them, but they can be those who have young children or no children (since Paul and John would be disqualified otherwise). But I think it’s of those who have shown godly maturity, based on the qualifications of an elder.
@TheSpiritualParentingPodcast5 ай бұрын
@Dan-ch8kv Timothy wasn't an elder. He was sent by Paul so mostly he was an Apostle (sent one) we call them Missionary now and a shepherd. Titus and Timothy were written towards the end of Paul's life therefore there was time to establish older men in the faith. Thanks for the discussion God bless you brother

This is a comment for Josh. I’ve been watching many Remnant Radio videos of late, and I am amazed at your ability to insightfully process ideas. This is a gift and I am glad you are using it to address important matters affecting the church today. I also notice that you tend to preface many of your remarks with a joke. Maybe you do it unconsciously or maybe you just like being the class clown. Either way, it adds nothing to the conversation. In fact, it takes away from it. I encourage you to work on this area. You will always have your God-given sense of humor, but it has a place and I don’t think interviews like these are that place. Maybe you could listen to this one again and ask the Lord to show you if what I am saying is true. My heart is to speak the truth in love, as we are to do and I hope you will take this in the right way. May the Lord bless all that you are doing to help the Body of Christ.

Hey guys, great interview. Around 46:00 he said Samuel was going to be a priest, but that took a left turn and he became a prophet instead. Maybe I'm overlooking something, but I don't think that's true. Samuel was an Ephraimite so he couldn't have been a priest. The idea was for Elisha's sons to continue the priesthood after their father, but God obviously didn't like that so He killed all three of them. Now who became priest, I don't know. I'd have to go back and re-read it, but I'm pretty sure Samuel was never supposed to or could have become a priest. And we know from the text he wasn't a priest, but more of a judge figure, and him being a prophet wasn't the reason for him not being a priest. Had he been eligible, there was no reason he couldn't be both.

It is believed his lineage traced back to the tribes of Kohathites who were given cities to dwell in the hill country of Ephriam. Joshua 21. He was the Kohathites clan were levites. 1 samuel 3:3 he is ministering to the Lord wearing a linen ephod so he is doing the duties of a priest before the Lord, ministering in the presence of the Lord. Remember he also slept before the Ark of the Lord. Samuel 3:3. Samuel 1:1 his parents were from the hill country of Ephriam. So it is believed that he actually was a decendent from the tribe of Levi 😊
@mrgallbladder6 ай бұрын
His lineage is literally listed in the beginning of 1st Samuel. He's not a desendent of Levi. King David also wore the ephod on occasion and he's from Judah.
@TheWayWalker6 ай бұрын
@mrgallbladder His lineage is listed in several places in the bible. Kohathites were descended from Kohath, the second son of Levi, and one of the four main divisions of Levites in biblical times. The reference to his father being an Ephraimite is not declaring his tribe but rather the region of where he lived. It would be like me saying I'm a "Missourian". I'm from this area. (See Judges 17:7-8 as an example) Elkanah lived at Ramathaim in the district of Zuph. His genealogy is also found in a pedigree of the Kohathites (1 Chronicles 6:3-15) and in that of Heman the Ezrahite, apparently his grandson (1 Chronicles 6:18-33) To be fair, even scholarship it is debated on that topic, but if you search the scriptures, it does point to this fact that yes, he was a levite, specifically a Kohathite. Samuel was a descendant of Korah through his son Abiasaph (1 Chronicles 6:33-37). (Exodus 6:24 tells us the names of Korah's sons were Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph) They (the Kohathites) were responsible for handling and care of the temple items (table of shew bread, Ark of the covenant, Menorah etc). Hope that helps.

The first time I prayed as an adult, (while I was still agnostic) I knew just enough about the bible to make sure I prayed to the one and true God. I prayed to The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, The God of Israel. I vocalized "The God of Abraham,Isaac, and Jacob, the God of Israel, the one and true God" I wanted to make sure that Inwas praying to The God. I ended up going to church a few months later. I got baptized in water, in The Name of Jesus on a Sunday morning,and recieved the baptism of the Holy Ghost that same Sunday evening, April 1987. Ever since then people always try to keep telling me, "you know, you don't have to be baptized in water in The Name of Jesus, and you don't have to be baptized with the Holy Ghost to be saved? Why do Christians take so much issue with Acts 2:38? Acts 2:37- 2:41 it's there. Do they think they water baptism will automatically make them become Jesus only? Does singing Jesus name songs automatically make someone Jesus only? Does laying hands and praying in Jesus name make someone Jesus only ? I definitely don't understand why Christians argue about water baptism? Maybe the thief on the cross didn't have time to get baptized. The thief on the cross didn't give tithes to the church. Does that mean we don't have to tithe 10%? Want rivival in church? READ the book of Acts. See how the early church operated and grew. Do we have to be exactly like the early church? No but they had power of The Holy Ghost,and that's important.

@@darylbryant8180 Yes it does to which aspect of my comment? Millions of trinitarians all around the world sing songs praising Jesus,with lyrics such as lifting up the name of Jesus and yet, at the end of the day, they still believe in the trinity. The have alter calls in church and they pray in the Name of Jesus, and they still believe in the trinity. When ever we mention baptism in The Name of Jesus for the remission of sins, according to Acts 2:38, they seem to back up all of a sudden,and try to explain it away. I don't understand why? I listen to what they say about the trinity. I can see what they are saying but, when I go visit their church I can't stop thinking about Acts 2:38. What's the issue, it's bible.
