Read God’s Key to Health and Happiness written by a pastor. It covers the reasons why God gave the dietary laws and how they still apply to believers in Jesus Christ, not anything to do with salvation but for the benefit of their health. If a car manual and maintenance is ignored, the car will break down even as the human body will break down if we ignore God’s dietary laws for optimal health.

Well done Brother. I appreciate all the work that went into this video and I’d encourage you to research the difference between “unclean” and “common” in Peter’s vision (Acts 10). Notice how there were “all kinds of animals” and not just unclean ones coming down in the sheet. Why didn’t Peter just eat the sheep in the sheet? Did the voice tell Peter specifically to pick out an unclean animal and eat it? Did God command him to do something he previously stated multiple times was detestable to Him? Does God change? I’d like to see a video discussing these topics as I know you will research them well and not stay in an echo chamber. Thanks again for the excellent production and time.
@richardvoogd7054 ай бұрын
My understanding of Peter's vision is that it wasn't so much about what food to eat and what not to eat, but illustrate that many of social conventions of the time might hinder the work God had in mind for Peter. The vision is described in Acts 10:1-16, and much of the rest of the chapter deals with not making a distinction between different people based on their being "clean" or "unclean" - God doesn't play favourites.

Thanks for your clear explanation. I've heard this explanation of clean and unclean before, but your explanation is clearer. Nonetheless, I'm unconvinced you're right. You're drawing an analogy between the food laws and the separation of priests, Israel, and Gentiles which is good and accurate. However, it's a human deduction, not a revelation from God that that is the reason for the food laws. My Biblical counterpoint is that Noah knew of clean and unclean animals in his time, well before Moses. That applied to all the people of the world after Moses. That supports my point of view that the clean and unclean laws are for our benefit to distinguish good and bad animal food. The New Testament points you bring out, unifying Jews and Gentiles in the new covenant gives a good reason for not enforcing food laws in the church. I knew historically the church didn't enforce those laws. It's clear from the New Testament point of view that food is not a salvational issue. Jesus Himself said the food we eat doesn't defile us, but the words we say from our hearts. We are holy and clean because of Jesus's shed blood, not the food we eat. Paul points out that Jesus broke down the wall of separation between Jew and Gentile. He also says that the Gentiles are grafted into the olive tree of Israel, making them Israelite. But that is contingent upon conversion. Thus all Christians are Israelites, and all non-Christians are non-Israelites. Paul also says in Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Thus, for me, I avoid unclean foods as per God's instructions, believing them to be inherently unsuitable for consumption. The studies that indicate otherwise are not more convincing than the word of God. But I do not fuss over what other people do, nor do I try to change their minds, for I may be wrong. From time to time I'll eat unclean food to avoid offense. Romans 14 gives good advice on this matter. I'm willing to admit I'm wrong. I just haven't seen it from your video.
@DiscipleDojo2 жыл бұрын
That's a fair position to take. Though I still think it runs up against Jesus declaring all foods clean and Peter's vision. I think YHWH told Noah what animals to bring for sacrifices knowing the full scope of the unfolding Levitical Covenant that lay ahead, and Milgrom notes that the concept of clean and unclean animals was not unique to Israel. Most ancient cultures had the concept. But there is nothing in Scripture that states it was for health reasons, so I think the parallels Milgrom notes are in fact good reasoning from the revealed Words of God whereas the idea that it was for health reasons is actually more a case of "human reasoning."
@AndyZach2 жыл бұрын
@@DiscipleDojo Right. Both sides use human reasoning since God hasn't revealed why certain animals are unclean. We come up with the best explanation we can. Regarding Jesus's pronouncement in Mark 7 and Matthew 15, here it is, in the WEB translation, merged together: Unwashed Hands Do not Defile One Spiritually Mark 7:14-37; Matthew 15:10-20 14 He called all the multitude to Himself, and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand. 15 There is nothing from outside of the man, that going into him 11 which enters into the mouth doesn’t 15 defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man 11 which proceeds out of the mouth, 15 are those that defile the man. 16 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!” 17 When He had entered into a house away from the multitude, 12 then the disciples came, and said to Him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended, when they heard this saying?” 13 But He answered, “Every plant which My heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted. 14 Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.” 15 Peter [and] 17 His disciples 15 answered Him, [and] 17 asked Him about the parable, 15 “Explain the parable to us.” 18 He said to them, “Are you also 16 still 18 without understanding? Don’t you perceive [and] 17 understand 18 that whatever goes into the man from outside can’t defile him, 19 because it doesn’t go into his heart, but 17 goes into the mouth passes into the belly, 17 and then out of the body 19 then into the latrine, thus purifying all foods? 20 He said, 18 “But the things which proceed out of the mouth [of] 20 the man 18 come out of the heart, and they defile the man. 21 For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts, 19 false testimony, 22 covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, 19 blasphemies, 22 pride, and foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man, 20 but to eat with unwashed hands doesn’t defile the man.” The subject matter is not clean and unclean foods, but washing your hands. Still, the principle applies: we are not spiritually defiled by what we eat, but by our hearts. It's reasonable to apply this to unclean meats, but if the original reason was for health purposes, you may be risking your health. More importantly, it doesn't say all meat is clean to eat. It's a debatable matter. I chose to error obeying the word of God.

In Marine Corps Mountain survival we are taught to also eat the eyes of a rabbit( also any fat pads surrounding eye) since they do carry fats/omegas. One thing confuses me with the God fearing Jews. Before I state my confusion, I will admit that I understand their persecution throughout the ages… which could be a reason. Back to my point. They know through the scriptures; God’s covenant with Abraham… and that they are chosen to be a kingdom of priests and an example to the nations; to bring the nations to God… yet… they have always been a closed community… almost like they only want God for themselves. I am not complaining about this attitude, but rather… I am confused about why they would not be more open to sharing their beliefs; or at least more open within their communities… like the Christians are. It seems to me that the Christian teachers are more in tune with the covenant God made between Himself and his chosen people.

God is not totally abandoning them, since satan hates them so much for opening the door and for such a heavy burden they as a people do deserve a very special place which God has already promised them

To again get believers to turn from the Truth and itch their ears the way they want to instead of following the One True God. Nothing against you Dojo-man, it was a good presentation. If Israel is God's chosen people (flawed as they are), and they were charged with teaching other people/nations about the One true God. I would think they would teach them to be like Israelites = grafting them in. Not saying (our side) Jew's will be an apple tree and your side (Gentiles) will be an orange tree but we will all be grafted to the same root. To mean, Jew's wouldn't teach Gentiles to live like Gentiles, they already do that. So now the only difference is that before they didn't believe in YHWH & Jesus and maybe now they do. And we know what the Bible say about believers; "even the demons believe". It's like me trying to sell gym memberships while I am swigging bourbon and smoking cigarettes. Oh I believe a gym membership is really good for you, but do I do it - "show me your faith.... " I am putting this concept in the clever category for now,

Isaiah 66:16-17 God calls the eating of unclean animals an ABOMINATION he also calls homosexuality, a lying tongue, one who lies with a beast and one who swift to shed innocent blood. Which of these ABOMINATIONS do you want to do? Isaiah 65:1-5 to eat unclean animals is rebellion against God and it is provoking him to anger and by doing this you are saying you are holier than God it is a smoke in his nose all day long

I'm not religious in any way, for me, it's a choice, I'm not here to knock anyone's beliefs. I heard it mentioned that pork wasn't banned due to the way it chewed its food rather that it wasn't as profitable for farmers as the only product (at the time) would have been meat, and everybody prior to these laws being introduced would have raised pigs, they produce large litters, providing families with a food source and waste disposal, as they eat virtually anything, and they are simple to raise. Now the problem for the farmers who reared cattle was how to sell and increase the herd size producing, meat, dairy products and pelts, so they started the idea that pork was socially unacceptable (pigs in the garden stood for poverty) and slowly the population would move away from rearing their own meat and buy it directly from the farms/butchers. This trend was firstly taken up by the Israelites, who then mocked Philistines for still consuming pork gradually reducing their reliance on pigs as a food source. As a non believer this social-economic theory makes perfect sense, the price of meat may have been prohibitive initially but as the population moved towards eating alternatives to pork the cost per pound would have been reduced as the herd size increased and the cost to the farmer per head of cattle would have come down.

I see the comments are a mix of views. Consider this, If you as a parent have naturally born children with your wife and then adopt a child or even several children, do the adopted children follow a different set of rules than the naturally born? Obviously no, not if you're a good and just parent. Understand, Jesus brings those that were out of covenant, the gentiles (according to your own teaching), into the commonwealth of Israel and into a covenantal relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So, now that we were once gentiles and are no longer because we are in a covenant relationship with the Father, who or what are we? There are three choices and gentiles and Christians are incorrect.

@sensiblechristian97915 ай бұрын
@@DiscipleDojo Nooo, they actually disagree with you. First, the Holy Spirit is not going to prompt someone to do something that is opposite of the Fathers instructions, i.e. what we find in Leviticus. Second, I believe I know what you are referring to in Acts, but I am going to break the chapter down a bit so I'm clear. The beginning of the chapter we see some Judeans telling new non-Jewish believers they must proselyte to Judaism to be saved, which we know to be false. The thing that most miss here is that these men are Shamai Pharisees and Shamai teaches that for Gentiles to be saved they must becomes a Jewish convert. To contrast this Paul and Barnabas argue with them telling them that's not so. Another thing folks miss and don't know is that Paul is a Hillel Pharisee and HIllel teaches that for a Gentile to be saved he must only believe in God and put his trust in HIm. Sound familiar? Skip down to verse 19 we see James interjecting telling the counsel not to worry the Gentile believers with things that "they nor their fathers could do". What James is referring to is not the Torah, but the Oral Torah or the traditions of the elders. God says my ways are not hard (1 John 5:3), so why do we think they are and teach others that they are? The instructions from James are concerning new believers coming from a Pagan life and the prohibitions he refers to are the Pagan practices that would exclude them from fellowship with Jewish believers and participating within the synagogues. Furthermore, these "prohibitions" are not the only things we today are to obey, but just the beginning as new believers. These instructions are also Torah instructions found in Leviticus, specifically what's called the heart of Torah, in Leviticus 15-19. Finally, the last statement in verse 21, James is stating that if Gentile believers start with these four things they can learn the rest of the teachings of Moses, through the Torah, in the synagogues every Sabbath.

I like the video, theres some things i didnt know and i thank you for that reference to the book. Got to have it! 25:29 with that said, this is the only part I disagree with with! This is solely about ethicity. Just like its only Arons children can be priests and the MOST HIGH saying he loves israel and the other nations are but a drop in a bucket that spills. Ruth is an israelite! I can show you a video which you may try to debunk but he is very thorough and use only scriptures. Also Joseph's sons were accepted before the Most High gave the covenant to israel and even the strangers within the camp were never called israelites, they were always referred to as strangers. Not one verse in the whole scriptures, including the apocrypha where he says he loves any other nation but israel. The problem is that through the fall of israel pagans got the book and started inserting themselves in the scriptures. The whole bible was written by israelite for israelites and it tells of the rise and fall and redemption of israel. People see church in the bible and think it means an actual church like what we have today but its an assebly of israel. The whole bible is about israel. People like to use Paul's writings to suggest that the actual gentiles were grafted in but its not so. The gentiles who were grafted in was the nothern kingdom. The tribes were split in two. The northen and the southern kingdom. The northern kingdon was broken off and sent into slavery and at the the time of christ it was only Judah, Benjamin and Levi (southern kingdom) who remained with the laws and both tribes hated each other. So in Galatians 3:27-28, when you see Jew nor Greek, bond, nor free, it was referencing Judah which was free and israel (northern kingdom) who were slaves and took on the greek identity. You can find that information in 2nd Maccabees i think. I am not saying other people cant be saved as after all, the israelite are going to have handmaids and handy in the kingdom. Even the 144000 are all ethnic israelites. There is no such thing as a spiritual israelite. I gave the video a like however as i love the information. I am going put a link under my comment to the video proving ruth was an israelite. Keep in mind, the Most High did say in Deuteronomy that a Moabite CANNOT enter into the congregation and somebody needs to show me where he said he changed his mind.

@@DiscipleDojo which part did i mix up? The Greek is only referring to foods that are meant to be eaten. Which is why you do not have any examples in the Bible of the apostles breaking this taboo. They would have never considered any of the unclean food fit for consumption. This was all talking about intermingling. With non-jewish people even have a food. Was exposed to unclean food that made it ritually Unclean... In Acts 10:9-16, Peter received a vision from God in which he saw a sheet coming down out of heaven that contained “all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air” (verse 12). Note that it was a mixture, with probably some clean animals and some unclean. A voice from God then exhorted Peter to “kill and eat” (verse 13), to which Peter objected that he had never eaten anything “common” (koinos in Greek) or “unclean” (akathartos in Greek). The first word refers to animals that had not been bled appropriately or had died of themselves. The second is the word used to refer to the unclean animals in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14. The voice then told him, “What God has cleansed you must not call common” (verse 15). But what was it that God had cleansed: meats hitherto unacceptable for human consumption? Or human beings hitherto unaccepted by the Jews for fellowship? The key to understanding this event is in verse 28, where Peter explains: “You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean” (verse 28, emphasis added). This was unlawful according to Jewish tradition, not Scripture. Note the next events after Peter’s vision were his encounter with the three men whom the gentile Cornelius had sent to Peter, followed by his visit with Cornelius and his household and their conversion and baptism.

You said it yourself, very nicely I must say, that the first Covenant at Sinai was with both Israel and the foreigners that attached themselves to the Hebrews. It was a marriage contract with God. The Father later divorces Israel and before he can remarry the SAME bride, something has to happen. The groom has to die and come back to life in order to remarry the same bride. This happens so a new Covenant is established, it has the same rules the only difference it the "I Do" part. You have a lot of good information in here. But, near the end I completely disagree with your position on Peter's vision, Acts 10:9-22. This vision was about the Gentiles not being unclean and presented in a manner he would understand, a metaphor. Peter was told to eat theee times. If you continue to read in the same chapter, verse 19, the Spirit said to him, "Simon, THREE men are looking for you. So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them." These THREE men were gentiles. There is no account of the Messiah's Disciples eating unclean things and none of them ever told their followers the dietary laws had been lifted. The Father has never removed His Torah from the Israelites and those who sojourn with them, and the Messiah confirmed this in Matthew 5:17-18.

I’ve pondered on that question too: why did God use this vision of telling Peter to eat unclean animals, if he didn’t intend it to be taken literally, and if he didn’t want to risk it being misunderstood and applied literally? Recalling Joseph’s interpretation of Pharaoh’s dream, some skinny cows ate some fat cows. The literal translation was that of famine following years of plenty. This is an example of a symbolic vision that wasn’t intended to be taken literally. Likewise, after Peter’s vision, he contemplated what it could mean, and then the Spirit interpreted the dream for him, telling him that it meant not to call any MAN unclean or common, if God had made him clean. Peter repeats this interpretation of the dream at the Acts 15 Jerusalem council. There’s never any breaking news or debates about any changes being made to God’s food laws. The ‘take-home’ lesson that is declared by those who hear the story is that “salvation has come to the Gentiles too!!”. God’s word is very clear that Peter’s vision was not to be taken literally because the proper interpretation of the vision was given multiple times in the text and understood by the council at the time. Our problem is that we can’t accept the truth that we’ve been taught false doctrine, and so we create our own incorrect interpretation of Peter’s vision. I’ve listened to a couple of your videos. I like how you describe God’s laws as “tactile theology”, and how you compared the purity of the sacrificial animals to the purity required of the priests serving in the temple. This may help explain why God used the vision of unclean animals as a symbol of Peter’s conception of unclean men. I’ve been watching your videos to see if you had any insights into helping me discern between holy and common. I feel like I understand the difference between clean and unclean. Peter declares that he’s never eaten anything unclean OR COMMON (Greek: akathartos for unclean and KOINOS for common). I thought, at first, maybe Koinos meant meat sacrificed to idols, but I think it possibly meant anything touched by non-Jews. It appears to be this koinos that is the subject of debate over Jesus’ disciples not washing their hands before eating grain, according to the “traditions of the elders”-not according to God’s law, but the extra laws given by the Pharisees. The Pharisees apparently thought if they came from the market, they may have contracted Gentile cooties, so they needed to wash off their koinos hands (defiled or made common hands) otherwise whatever they ate would be contaminated by koinos (the commonness of the Gentiles) and cause themselves to be made koinos (defiled). Jesus replies to the people that eating with unwashed (koinos) hands won’t defile you (make you common/koinos); but it’s your heart and your subsequent behavior that makes you common and contaminated. It had nothing to do with God’s categorizations of animals or creatures that he defined as unclean and unfit for his people to eat. God clearly says that eating unclean meat would defile his people. The word for unclean in the Greek is akathartos and in Jewish it is tame. The Jewish word for common is chol with the equivalent Greek word being koinos. As God instructs us to discern between the clean and the unclean and between the holy and the common, I was just trying to gain a better understanding of the second part. I’m not sure if your diagram that shows the people within the camp of Israel being considered common is accurate, because they were a holy people set apart to the Lord, and in the story above regarding the Pharisees’ law of eating with unwashed hands, they were being mislead to believe that eating with unwashed hands would cause them to become common. It appears that all of Paul’s teachings about food, when translated properly, actually apply to other topics that aren’t related to God’s unclean food definitions, but are regarding food and drink sacrificed to idols, or food and drink sacrificed to God, or food and drink taken to commune with Christ or on the subject of fasting. I’ll try to come back and be more specific in a follow-up comment. In a search for the akathartos unclean in the New Testament, the only reference to unclean creatures was in the book of Revelation. Normally akathartos is used to refer to unclean spirits in the New Testament. I’ve been eating according to God’s clean food designations for the past few years. I’ve come to trust that God knows more than I do about these things, and if He hasn’t explicitly stated that he’s changed his law and told us in the law or the Prophets (Old Testament) of the upcoming change before enacting it, it’s best to choose who I’m going to believe and stand with God’s word, and not man’s. Jesus accused the Pharisees of making God’s word void with their traditions that had been handed down to them. May that never be said of me that I chose not to take a critical look at my own doctrine that had been handed down to me when it contradicts, dismisses and disrespects God’s word. “We maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. … Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.” Romans 3:28-31. We can’t make an assumption that because the Acts 15 letter didn’t include directions to obey God’s other laws not mentioned herein, that the Gentile Christians weren’t expected to obey any other laws besides those. James does comment that God’s law is being read every Sabbath in those cities that the letter was written to, so I think we can safely assume that the Christians were supposed to be continuing to hear God’s word, and that the council didn’t need to rewrite the whole law and the books of the Prophets in this letter. Plus the Christians probably already knew of these simple Leviticus 11 food instructions and weren’t having any problems following them. No new news in this letter that they could go back to eating pork. I appreciate you sharing your research, but my advice to you is that the Pharisees also had extensive volumes of books that they based their doctrine on which caused them to override God’s word. Remember our church’s history. Martin Luther admitted that he didn’t tackle some of the false doctrine in the reformation because he knew the common folk couldn’t accept it and they would refuse to give up their religious traditions. I’m rather appreciative of the tactile object lessons in God’s law, while at the same time very appreciative of the spiritual truths that they should inspire in us as the goal of these lessons. Jesus said, “Woe to you teachers, you hypocrites! You give a tenth but you have neglected the more important matters of the law - justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter without neglecting the former.” Matthew 23:23. Notice how Jesus instructs to keep God’s law both literally and spiritually.

But Torah is not TRUELY written on the heart, no? If it was, then one would not sin. Therefore, we are NOT in the New Covenant presently. Only Messiah is, in His resurrection. We, believers, will be at His coming. Until THEN, we remain in the Old Covenant. These two Covenants are based upon mankinds mortal frame, our mortal coil. It all was promised unto us to deal with sin and death.
@DiscipleDojo5 ай бұрын
@@brianj5495 no, we are in Messiah, and thus in the New Covenant. The Holy Spirit has written Torah on our hearts and guides us in Covenant community. The Mosaic Covenant is no longer in effect (which is why we don't sacrifice animals like the Samaritans still do).

For this it is best to read Jewish literature, who have the commandment Kashrut since ancient times. The commandment is identified in hebrew as a חֹק (chuq), which are those commandments established in the Torah without explanation or reason for the commandment. You must obey them even if you do not know the reason or it does not make sense to you. The Torah is the revelation of God's righteousness and holiness, therefore, anyone who desires in his heart to get closer to God and do His will must obey God's laws as established in the Torah. Animals that are unclean to eat are unclean for every human being, not only for the descendants of Israel (cp. Rev 18:12; 21:27).

This is exactly the notion that the book of Galatians was written to counter. For Christians, when it comes to understanding the Gospel, Jesus' commissioned Apostles are of greater authority than any Rabbi.
@luissoto7092 Жыл бұрын
At no time did I said that rabbinical authority is above the authority of the First Apostles. But as for what is involved in defining the reason or motive of the Kashurt commandments, identified as a חֹק (chuq), it is better to come to the Jews, to whom the commandment was given and not to those who annul the commandment; tendency that goes directly against the teaching of Yeshua, annulling the commandments of the Torah and teaching not to observe them. So when it comes to these types of commandments it is better to go to the explanation of those who have observed the commandment for centuries, a commandment that has been explained by tradition, teachers and prophets.

God does everything with great intent and purpose! He’s not on His Throne with Christ in Heaven making arbitrary decisions which result in different applications of His laws to a select group or different groups of people. He created all of mankind through one man from the same blood(Acts 17:26). God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). The dietary laws were created for nutritional properties from the time The Word renewed the face of the earth and created man upon it ( Psalms 104:30). Noah was commanded to take two by two, creatures of all flesh into the Ark (Genesis 6:19-20). Verse 21 says Noah was to gather up enough food to sustain him and his family for the duration of their time on the Ark. Then in Genesis 7:2 God begins to separate the beasts of the field and the fowls of the air into two categories. The Clean and the Unclean. Of the clean animals God had Noah take by twos, seven pairs of each clean beast of the field and fowl of the air. Now that’s quite a lot of extra beasts and birds. Why is that? It’s really not rocket science! God created-at creation- creatures for human consumption and nourishment, and other creatures for other purposes. After his time on the Ark, Noah was commanded to take of each of the clean animals, of the field and air, and sacrifice them as burnt offerings. He DIDN’T sacrifice all of the clean animals, he sacrificed on the altar FROM ONLY those animals. As another point, there were no Israelite priests performing these ceremonial rituals at the time. Noah is called a “Preacher of Righteousness”(II Peter 2:5). The Bible definition of righteousness is found in Psalm 119:172. Abraham kept God’s commandments, statutes and laws(Genesis 26:5) and raised his family and his small empire wherever they sojourned(Genesis 18:19) to do the same hundreds of years before the “law of Moses”, Noah, thousands of years before. God wasn’t just arbitrarily assigning which creatures the Children of Israel were permitted to eat. He was educating them on how He designed His creation, for what purposes, blessings for obeying the physical laws that He designed into His creation for its proper functions; man, beast, flora, water, land( laws of farming-rotating crops, fruit trees etc.). These aren’t just whimsical directives God imposed upon Israel to make them standout from the Gentile nations around them. This is How God designed the earth to be used, to yield forth its plethora of physical features. By keeping these inexorable laws that God designed in His creation, Israel would be a blessing to all the nations around them as an EXAMPLE on how to prosper as a society, reaping the benefits of following God’s instructions. An appliance comes with instructions on how to operate and maintain it for maximum benefit. That’s what God was doing with the children of israel(Deuteronomy 4:5-7). That is also a very critical reason God has preserved these OT writings for us. They’re right there in black, white and Red! In actuality, the dietary laws of clean and unclean weren’t designed to point to a certain group of people, they were designed to point to the Brilliant, Magnificent, Omniscient God who created them!

At the appearing of the King of righteousness? If anything He raised the bar.Hatred is murder,lust is adultery.aJesuscHimself said not one line or tittle of the law shall pass away .So I'll try and explain, Pharasee Paul.Itcsays they deliberately teach to make understanding hard.AndcPaul said he was King of the Pharasees.Paul teaches in circles,takes you all over China and back,just to say something simple,yet people get lost in confusion half way through.So does one steal in the name of Jesus? Or murder in His name.You can't do something God called abominable,in the name of His Holy Son,and pretend it's not good. When it talks about meat,it's talking about clean allowable meats,it talking about,people condemning other people for eating regular clean meat ,compared to a vegetarian that eates no meat.It says both are ok.ButcPaulciscteachingvin this particular instance of people who don't eat vile foods,like pig,or lobster, or Octopus,or shark,or eagles.Thecpeople he's talking to already know that.Thectopic is pretty lengthy.So I don't want to ramble on But Cain was cursed and run away from his family Because he ignored God's instructions.Cain offered up to God a vegetable sacrifice,and it was rejected by God Ablecwas paying attention and offered up a clean meat sacrifice and was praised by God,so do the math,Meat good,vegetables bad.accirdingcto God.

Does the space bar not work on your computer? :) Peter warned us that Pauls letters "contain some things that are hard to understand...that the ignorant and unstable twist, as they do the other scriptures", so it shouldn't surprise us that people don't know what to do with him sometimes. But the Apostolic Council of Acts 15 was VERY clear that gentiles are not required to keep Levitical food laws any more than we are required to keep Levitical sacrificial laws. You can't pick and choose which laws of Torah to keep and which can be discarded. Either we are in the Messianic New Covenant poured out by the Spirit and written on human hearts or we're not. Anything else is at odds with the Holy Spirit's guidance in Acts 15.
