This episode is a review of the recently published paperback edition of the book called, The Restitution: Biblical Proof that Jesus is not God, by Kermit Zarley*.
What? Biblical proofs that Jesus is NOT God. The average Christian has heard only the biblical proofs that supposedly declare that Jesus IS God.
But anyone who thinks that the Bible claims that God is a Trinity, or that the Bible claims that Jesus Christ is God, should read this book. The Restitution: Biblical Proof that Jesus is NOT God is a comprehensive study of biblical Christology. What does the Bible say about who or what Christ (Messiah) is? For some 1700 years Christian churches have answered that question by saying that Jesus is God, or a God-Man. Zarley challenges that answer. He maintains that the biblical view is not “God is Christ”, but “God in Christ”. That is, the One God of the Bible, Yahweh, worked in and through His human Messiah, Jesus, to reveal Himself to mankind (John 1:18, Heb. 1:1), and to reconcile the world to Himself (2 Cor. 5:19).
*Kermit Zarley is a retired professional golfer and Christian author. In 1965 he co-founded the PGA Tour Bible Study group which continues to this day.

BDAG (3rd Edition): Concerning John 20:28 states that theos "certainly refers to Christ" (theos, page 450). 2. A Greek and English Lexicon of the New Testament: Of the Logos, who is declared to be ho theos, e.g. John 1:1...also in the exclamation of Thomas, John 20:28. - So Christ is called ho theos (theos, page 334).

Anyone raised up by parents who had a family habit of doing the Bible readings every day for 30-60 minutes would not be confused by this or many other errors. I learned to read from the Bible at age 4-5 and never got any idea about Jesus being God, I just organically knew that God is God and Jesus is Jesus. When I learned that other people were confused about the Trinity and deity of Christ thing and heard their reasons I realized they were ignorant about God’s use of agency (representation) even though it is clearly seen in the OT, ignorant of the Scripture use of metaphors and eastern idioms, and some other Biblical uses of spiritual language brought about by substituting brainwashing for Bible reading. Just read the book to ask what God is trying to say instead of superimposing the views entrenched in the important people in your life and cling to God and you will know the truth and be free and truly happy despite some temporary minor persecution.

When looking at the 5 uses of the word AntiChrist it seems like they're referring to the doctrine of the Trinity #1 deny father and the son #2 deny Jesus is the Messiah #3 deny Jesus came in the flesh. The doctrine of the Trinity denies the father and the son by claiming they are one. It denies Jesus is the Messiah by claiming he is the creator It denies Jesus came in the flesh by claiming he is deity. Perhaps "God the Son" is the "Son of Perdition" from 2 thessalonians 2:3 who sits the temple of God showing himself that he is God?

In the last few years before I came to understand Jesus is God's only created by birth (begotten) son, I became bothered that modern evangelical churches were seemingly more and more like a Jesus cult. There was no glorifying God our Father as the writers of the New Testament did. The songs and the preaching were all about Jesus nothing about God the Father. The pop gospel music turned out to be a sour note to those who are coming to know who God is and who Christ is. can you cite them correctly? the one you just stated, have you noticed it has the conjunction "AND" between God and Jesus christ. That usually means two things. in this case it mentions God, "and" Gods son Jesus who God raised and anointed as Peter told us in Acts2:36. Conjunction means a junction or joining of two things in the subject of context. It can mean as you intend, that they mean both things are the same, but only if the context was about them being one in a third meaning, the context. In this case the context is about their persons, and so it shows there are two persons, God and His anointed one (christ means anointed, its left in greek to make it sound special). This verse is NOT stating that one person is the other... example "one bird and flyer" where the context is flying, This case is two distinct beings.... example "one eagle and one dove" they can both fly but the context is there is two if them which are different. This verse you cite, the context is about "appearing" and the conjunction shows two beings will appear, God and his anointed messiah, who has been MADE lord.

I don’t care about any creed I’m concerned with what the Bible says and the Bible says Jesus is God. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one but distinctly different. Your interpretation of the use of “and” is no different from how Catholics interpret what Jesus meant when He said “You are Peter and upon this rock I will build my church”. You have the facts, but you lack the truth. What of the other scriptures I listed though? You merely attempted to tear apart one, leaving the others alone. There are others I could have used but if you’re unwilling to see truth, those won’t matter either. Plain and simple fact is that there are things about the infinite God that we cannot and will not be able to understand with the limited mental horsepower we have in this life. Genesis 2:24 ESV Two persons described as one (echad ) flesh . So in the old testament never is the wife mentioned in family matters . " You , your son and your daughter ." You reptesenting you and your wife . So do we see God ( the Father ) and God ( the Son ) shown in this context of one ( echad ) Consider : Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up, and they saw the God of Israel. There was under his feet as it were a pavement of sapphire stone, like the very heaven for clearness. And he did not lay his hand on the chief men of the people of Israel; they beheld God, and ate and drank. Exodus 24:9‭-‬11 ESV See that " He did not lay His hand on the chief men of the people of Israel ; they BEHELD God , and ate and drank . Exodus 33:21‭, ‬23 ESV So for me the meaning of Echad had brought peace to me in understanding who God ( the Father ) , God ( the Son ) and the Holy Spirit , is . If one does not understand this concept - what Christ said in Matt 15 : 24 - could never be understood . He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." Matthew 15:24 ESV Again if you do not understand the concept of Echad , this verse make no sense . But in the context of the divorce decree from God , to the House of Israel - Hosea 5 : 3- 4 - it's understandable that God " died " through the death of Christ - to anul the divorce decree , and make it possible for people of the House of Israel - to become part of God's Kingdom again . Hi Cornelius, I think you might be making a philosophical and word trick in an effort to understand how three can be one. "Jesus is God, the Father is God and the Spirit is God but they are all one God" is like saying "I am human, you are human and Sally is human but we are all one human". One grape is not one cluster. The idea of multiplicity is in the word "cluster", not in the word grape. So, you will have to decide if the word "God" has the idea of multiplicity in it or not. Evening by itself is not day, or “a day”. Morning by itself is not a day. But Trinitarians want to tell me that Jesus by himself is God. And the Spirit by himself is God. But in their supposed “compound unity” claim, only the combination of all three together would be “one God”. For the trinitarian, one person is God and three persons are God. That would be like saying one grape is a cluster and three grapes are a cluster. Or one person is a family and three persons is a family. It’s a word trick. This is why Robert Bowman, a Trinitarian, and author of a book called “Why you should believe in the Trinity says this: “For something like 35 years, as a Trinitarian and a biblical scholar, I have been explaining to people that the argument that echad means a compound unity is a bad argument, for two reasons. a. It just isn't correct. The word echad simply means "one." To read anything more into it is a mistake. b. In classic Trinitarian theology, God is *not* a compound unity! That would mean that the Trinity is three separate beings, none of which is God, but collectively they combine to constitute God. That isn't what the doctrine of the Trinity teaches.” Keep in mind too, that no one in the Bible tries to make a point like this. Jesus, nor Paul, nor Peter, ever said, "See God is a compound unity. Three that are God are one God". This "three is one" argument is a post-biblical claim made by people trying to find a reason to believe what they want.

Like holy handgrenades. None of them went off, they are fizzers because those who discover the tradition of religion mistakes already dealt to them and know how to defuse them. It’s very odd how scripture states multiple times that people worshipped Jesus-the wise men, the apostles-and never once did Jesus tell them to stop, that they were to worship God and God alone. Obviously when He was an infant he wouldn’t have done this but the fact still remains that later in life, not once did He refuse this worship that, according to the Old Testament, is reverence due only to God. Additionally, those proclaiming that Jesus isn’t God cannot answer the question-without obfuscation at least-of WHY the Jews accused Him of making Himself to be God if He in fact was NOT MAKING HIMSELF TO BE GOD. All I’ve seen are failed attempts to attribute human traits to the infinite God, twisted interpretations of scripture, cherry picking, and the like. As of yet, not one single coherent answer to the questions I posed above. Why didn’t He stop them from worshipping Him since the Son of God would know, if anyone would, that worship is due to God and God alone and why did the Jews accuse Him of portraying Himself to be God if He wasn’t portraying Himself to be God? Clear, concise answers only that are based on scripture alone, not your opinions. I’ll wait.

It is any reverence or praising and in the narrow context you insist on it is (not noticed by you) about offering worship TO OTHER GODS as stated in the ten comandments. As plenipotentiary Jesus is the full manifestation of God who manifests through the man Jesus. REPRESENTATION GOES BOTH WAYS. I was 38 years in that same place. can i suggest you step back a bit and take note that you stand on the majority religious position. And you see a few like me who are eagerly speaking against that position, and the number is growing. Consider the biblical context of being in majority. All the major events recorded in bible, flood, babel, exodus, each prophet, crucifixion and the assurance that to be a follower you will be hated by the world. This Question is really simple really. I you have done your own research on this matter than you would have to come to the conclusion that Yes Jesus is God, and there is no way to get around that. And I would never argue with anybody about this because it is a no-brainer believe me. Yes Jesus Is God: besides he was the only one who was sinless who could die for humanity. Also God is a Trinity which is 3, but in One God, and so Jesus is God, and God is God, plus the Holy Spirit is God, and no matter how many times you multiply God like Billions of times he is still one god: No way around that --- no way of getting around that, Even Jesus himself Claimed to be God: so that would be the end of the discussion and the end of the debate, but you have to understand first how to divide the (K. J. B.) King James Bible Dispensationally. When you do you'll realize that the bible doesn't Contradict itself: because you know how to properly divide it then you'll understand.. I can't do that so you have to do your own research on it and find out for yourself. Here is some Good teachers who will help you to understand. Richard Jordon is one and you can find him here online --- all of them you can find online as well, but Richard Jordon is a good teacher. Also Bryan Denlinger has some issues, but he does seem to know most Scripture in most areas, but he is wrong about using the name of God in Vain, and also he is wrong about other things, but for understanding scripture he is good on that. Also Robert Breaker is good. Justin Johnson is one of the best today I believe. David Reid is good in most areas. Oh Les Feldick is good and he will teach you proper division of Scripture. There are other good teachers on that programs that Richard Jordon is on as well: they are really good bible teachers. Once you learn proper division than you'll understand that the Book of Revelation out of the 66 books of the bible: has Prophecy in it that has not actually taken place yet despite what some modern-day so-called Prophecy teachers say. Yes the book is real history, but it has not started yet, and that book will not start until the the "Church which is the Body of Christ" has been Raptured out in a Pre-Tribulation Rapture. Then that book will start to unfold, and then Prophecy will resume again, and Miracles will also resume again, and there will also be an angel in the Heavens declaring a Different Gospel than the one that Paul Preached: Because today we are in what is called a Silent Time Prophetically --- it is the Age of Grace, and so you can be saved by grace today and not by works, but that won't be true during the 7 years Tribulation though. Al Billech describes what is called a "Worm-Hole": which is a worm hole vortex, and Al B. and Prstin Nicoles talk about the Philadelphia Experiment, and that is where now I am convinced scientifically that yes the Experiment had actually happened, and yes Time Travel had been achieved in 1943, but the first experiment happened in 1931 of course. But we did achieve time travel and Al B. And Pretin Nicoles lecture on the Physics of it and it is quite Fascinating believe me. Well the Bible I believe describes what Al B. was talking about. He was saying that that vortex needed to be shut-down or the whole north American continent would split in half: well in the Bible is prophecy is does describe the mount of Olives splitting in half: well I beleive that is just after Jesus comes through a Worm hole as a several hundred foot giant to defeat his enemies like demons, people who hate Israel; the Globalists for one thing. Anyway the Bible also describes a worm hole where it says that the 'Heaven and Earth Roll up like a Scroll", and of course that is where Jesus comes back as a giant as a conquering King through a worm hole. He does need to be a giant to defeat his enemies. You've got demons that are giants as well you know. But he will Rule rthe earth for 1000 years Millennial Reign on earth. So yes Jesus is God, and he said that he was God, and he will demonstrate that when he comes back. Even the Bible Says that the People hiding in these caves and caverns were hiding from the man on the thrown and anyone can guess why they would cry-out for the mountains to fall upon them to hide themselves from the man on the thrown, and that's because he is a conquering king obviously. But we I believe are getting close, and that is because look at the way our world is going: the globalists were trying to trigger a nuclear war with Putin, and of course that didn't work, and then the lied about that so-called china Spy Balloon and shot it down, and now their ling about the China Spy Balloon program now. Hey they tried to kill us off with covid, and of course that didn't work, but they will keep trying to kill us. Anyway those globalists I beleive: are the ones who are hiding. They will be hiding in their bomb bunkers. Also There will be Fake News people in there who served the globalists, also a-lot of Hollywood as well; just anyone who served the globalists in general. There will also be some Christians at this time waiting for their lord's return, and they will go into the kingdom with Christ on earth. And us Christians then will be living in heavenly places. Anyway no matter how many live we have, and that is if there is such a thing as reincarnation: you will ultimately need to be saved to have eternal life in heaven, and if not you'll have to face the Zombie Judgement as I put it and that is where you will probably be either thrown into the new Earth or thrown into a Black Hole which a assume then would be eternal than, but I have some theories anyway, but I don't want to go into it. Anyway there wil be a Great White Thrown Judgement, and I call it the zombie judgement, and that because you will be in everlasting shame. But the people who are born again will have everlasting life instead. Anyway hope you give your life to God because the time is short --- we may not have much time. although once you've asked Jesus for forgiveness then you'll always be saved so don't let anyone talk you you out of your salvation. Jesus saves by obediently being the lamb. We save ourself by coming under the provided blood. In each case it is God who does the salvation, He planned it and provided the lamb.

There are only two choices regarding this statement. Modalists would say this shows Jesus IS the Father. (Trinitarians would not). The New Testament would teach that Jesus, as the IMAGE of God, is a reflection of the Father. Two beings, but identical in critical ways.

This is such basic stuff; go study the Hebrew. English can't break down the bible. God sent Jesus... and Jesus sent the Spirit, and they are 3 separate parts of 1 God. Genesis 1/John 1 shows all 3 parts at the beginning of creation. Later, when the Spirit came down like a dove on Jesus and God said, "this is my beloved son, in whom I'm well pleased" was all 3 parts together, again. Jesus was the only beloved son that Abraham was going to sacrifice. Daniel Chapter 6 "Son of Man" is God coming down from the sky called son of man and Jesus called himself this title. John Chapter 1 The word was, created, and is God, and Jesus is the word. Jesus is the door on the ark God closed before the flood; He is the door by which the wolf cannot come in and the shepherd that goes through the door. Jesus is not a created being but the power of creation itself. The bible describes it as God as the sun, and Jesus as the light rays going out from the sun... it's still sun, even though it's separate. You've said nothing in this video other than admitting total lack of understanding of the Scripture. Jesus is the only way that was so repeated from Deuteronomy. In Colossians 1 and Hebrews 1 the Bible plainly reveals Jesus Christ as the Creator of the universe. Also seen plainly in Psalm 110. In Micah chapter 5 says His goings forth are from old, from everlasting. If Jesus is not one with the Father, you will die in your sins. In John 8 Jesus said, before Abraham was "I AM" ... the I AM spoke to Moses from the buning bush. These are Judaisers. Christians, flee from here.

in Colossians Jesus creates all things... in the context of Colossians letter, which is that Jesus is head of the NEW CREATION. Heb1, "in times long ago God spoke to us in various ways in the prophets, now in THESE DAYS He speaks to us in the son, through whom He created the (greek) aions. this word is usually "world" and its Strongs G165 which says "ages, periods of time" and is the word we get english "eons" from. Its got nothing to do with planets and universes or galaxies far far away. Heb is about "v1 times past, and v2 now in this time" and so is the context of the boom of hebrews, about comparing the past age of jewish law with this current age of grace in the blood of christ. Too much watching star wars or star trek with captain kirk going out bravely to explore new worlds.... the modern mind doesnt grasp the meaning of "world" to represent the times we live in. i.e. this evil world, and living worldly, its not the planet at fault. I hope you grasp this and scales fall from your eyes so you sure can give "100."
