Another great video, great to see as I couldn't make it. Displayed a Metro there 2 years ago...crowd round it all day 🤷

Thank you very much. Yes, nostalgia generally trumps horsepower at a Scramble!

Great video! I thought I saw your esprit there…. 480ES was fab and properly used. Faves were the Virage in the car park and the 918 spyder.... great day, and by far warmer than the January event brrrrr 🥶

Thanks Adrian - yes it was nice to have some sunshine.

I'm with you on the modern supercars as a rule. They're quite amazing but, if I had millions to spend I doubt if much past about 2000 would be on my list. More likely the earlier Italian stuff. Plus a scruffy old DBS.

When modern supercars were something of a rarity out on the roads, they excited and interested me but thanks to finance they’re everywhere. And they’re only new/special for a few months before another one comes out that is “better”. By contrast, a classic just gets more and more interesting as it ages. Thanks for watching - and my friends at Bonhams Cars Online can probably help you on the scruffy old DBS!

Had to look it up, CANOO is an American Electric Vehicle Company

Yes - me too - lots of responses on Twitter that the company may not survive too long though.

Wow the Monteverdi was sounding rough.

It was although it had driven from Switzerland so maybe it’s better once it’s warmed up fully!

AC Cobra is definitely British. In the same way the Citroën SM is French & the DeTomaso Pantera is Italian. Designed & built in Britain, then shipped to the states to have the engine fitted.

Happy to claim it for the home team - with joint credit to USA for Carroll Shelby having the idea to drop in a Ford V8.

It was a great day out, I didn't realise I was taking photos of your car as you drove away. I wonder what it would look like without the 911s, lots of space :)
@SportsandGT8 ай бұрын
Are you on Twitter/X to share the photos you took? @sportsandgt - would be interesting to see a 911-free Scramble but to be fair, they are good cars - if a little ubiquitous!

I noticed while looking at the cars the amount of men there dressed alike. Jeans , a dark jacket or hoodie. As for the cars, such a good display of old ane more recent cars.
@SportsandGT8 ай бұрын
Haha - a good observation - a dark jacket (preferably padded) is vital on the edge of a breezy airfield - even when the sun is out! Other than for warmth, I don't suppose anyone there thinks too much about what they are going to wear. Thanks for watching.

@SportsandGT Men are very conformist. It's the same here where I live. Groups of men walking down the street uniformed.
@SportsandGT8 ай бұрын
@@Carl-x8y3c I don't think it's gender specific - teenagers especially seem to follow their respective herd. Maybe men never grow out of it!

@SportsandGT Men are afraid to be seen as being different in dress. Alot of men are colour shy too. Men police one another as well. Everything is on a superficial level.
