I'm from the Netherlands. It is just crazy to see people on bikes in the same space as cars. It is almost as if bikers have a death wish. In the Netherlands we have 'fietspaden' or special cycle paths reserved for bikes. They exist in every city/town along nearly every road. The US has more guns than people. We have more bikes than people. I'm seriously thinking about getting my third bike - an electric bike, perhaps a Level 2 for commuting to work. I already have a racing bike for weekend countryside rides, and a garbage town bike - stealing bikes is the national sport here.

Yes, bicycle paths are very different here. I wish we had infrastructures similar to the Netherlands for bikers to make it safer!

Thank you for the great video chock full of good information. I’m curious you didn’t mention the Level 2 step through. My wife is just over 5’ so I believe the step through would be more suited for her. What if anything do you know about the step through? Thanks in advance. Dave

Thanks for watching and for the nice comment! I mentioned the step-thru version briefly in the review's "frame" section, but it is easy to miss. It is identical in every way to the step-over version except that it does not have a top tube on the frame. This means the bike has a slightly different geometry and is better for shorter riders. The REG size step-through frame will fit riders 4'11" - 5'7", so it should be perfect for a 5' rider. Other than that, all other components are the same on the bike

Do you know the weight of the bike without the battery? I realize the specs state the bike weighs 62 lbs but I think that might be with the battery.
@BikeRidecom7 ай бұрын
I will check and get back to you. The 62lb is with the battery included. The battery should weigh 7-10lb on its own, but I will confirm.

I just bought this bike, waiting for it to arrive. Got the extra battery, and I am going to use it to finally check out the Eurovelo. Going to fly initially into Zurich, and connect about six miles north of the airport, in the middle of the Rhine section, and then head east towards Vienna, and then maybe Bratislava. This is the ebike I was waiting for. Two batteries, two chargers, banging down a hundred miles a day when I am trying to get somewhere. For other adventure bikers, London is probably the second best city to fly in to imo, bc Heathrow connects to one section that heads towards bath, and Gatwick heads to another section that goes towards the tunnel. Any other perfect European airports for bike travel?

Awesome that sounds like a great trip! I would love to check out some of the riding in Europe and e-bikes just make it so much more accessible. You are right, with dual batteries you will be making lots of progress! and 2 chargers to get them both powered up over night. Awesome trip let us know how it goes!

Ford should buyout this ebike company and produce twenty thousand level 2 bikes per year at $1500 per bike with extra battery included.
@BikeRidecom4 ай бұрын
That would be something hey? At $1500 with the extra battery, it might be the best e-bike deal around!

I am 5’11” 70 yo and interested in the standard size. You demonstrated the standard size and commented that it is a little small. How tall are you?
@BikeRidecom7 ай бұрын
I am 6' tall; at 5'11", Aventon recommends a L frame size for your height. You may fit a regular-size frame if you find your leg/arm length is shorter than standard

I bought one. The pedal assist did not work out of the box. Had to be repaired at repair shop not happy.

Sorry to hear that, was it covered under warranty from Aventon?

It would have helped if you could have shown the battery removal and reinstallation rather than only describing it.
@BikeRidecom6 ай бұрын
Sorry about that! We show it in almost all videos for other bikes and this one must have not been had the footage included mistakenly. I will make sure we have it in all future reviews

I own one , 9.9/10. The best. It feels like riding a device built by engineering genuses
