Bicycling Tucson Loop's Rillito River Park (Jan 26, 2022)

For our last three winter getaways, we have traveled to Tucson Arizona. We love the Tucson area for its great bike paths (The Loop and others) and hiking in the surrounding mountains. We have always stayed in Oro Valley which is just north of Tucson.
I wasn't going to post any video of the actual Tuscon loop proper from this year, but this video turned out so nicely and we have such a good time riding the north section along the Rillito River Park that I decided to post it for others to see and hopefully explore. I am hoping that next year we can post a video of us riding the whole 55 miles Tuscon loop. The Rillito River Park trail has a bike path all along the north side of the river and sections along the south side. We rode to the east on the north side of the river and back to the west on the south side where we could. If you are looking for a fun 25 mile ride this is a good one.

Thxs For the video I bike it almost daily found certain areas to be busier than other areas. If I want a quieter ride I will drive too a different location. Sundays on the north side with farmers market can be busy but fun for a bite too eat and or browse.😁

FYI: A double L in Spanish is pronounced like a "J" in English. So it is not pronounced R I L I T O, but R I J I T O ( same sound as the J in joke, or Janice). The word rillito means small river (Rio means river, Rillito means little river, or small river).

Used to like that path, but reckless cyclists have ruined it, riding in packs at speeds of 20 + mph

It is a wonderful section of the loop. As you mentioned we noticed the same issue of packs of riders moving quickly and not being courteous to other riders when we were in Tucson in the winter of 2022. It was a noticeable difference from the winter of 2020. Thanks for watching!

Occasionally (rude groups) per my experience... generally not a problem.
