I get that some CEOs are truly talented people, but billions of dollars a year? Come on! That's just insanity. I can see tens, MAYBE low hundreds of millions per year, but billions is crazy. The Anerican national debt is also a major cause of inflation. A little fact checking demonstrates that both parties are guilty of increased national debt. Unfair taxation does not help to improve national debt. Monopolies in several economic sectors also lead to inflation due to price gouging to raise shareholder profit While some of the Democratic policies are clearly not great economic policies, neither are the Republican policies. It boils down to human greed and priorities. Either way the bottom 75% suffers economically. So, while Mr. Forbes makes some valid points, he also dabbles in fear mongering. So tired of that BS.

Saying "both parties" is disingenuous. Before Reagan the debt was just our leftover bills from fighting WW2 plus some unpaid interest. Since Reagan rightwingers have used the debt as a tool to exploit our economy to give handouts to billionaires. Bill Clinton's increased top income tax rate, capital gains taxes, and luxury taxes balanced the budget until W with a GOP congress got rid of them and doubled the debt in 8 years. Most of Obama's debt was bailing the nation out of W's economic disaster.

@gaberoo90992 ай бұрын
Some of this might have something to do with the common malady afflicting most other sectors: consolidation creating monopolies/oligopolies with ever greater lobbying power and way more lobbyists/lawyers compared to what the pentagon/government beaurocracies can handle, but also many years of regulatory bloat that makes efficient procurement and efficient implementation difficult. The wealthy give back to the community in which they live in with their purchasing power. Their business's give people jobs. Increasing the taxes on the rich does absolutely nothing except take away capital from you the lower class. Tax them more and they raise the prices in their business, cut jobs, invest less. I really don't understand the mentally of taxing the rich more.

Regulations only increase prices, they don’t go hungry because it’s a necessity. There will always be a market for sick people wanting to get better. You add regulations and companies are incentivized to increase prices because it’s harder to get out there product.

@@fernandoavila7511 There's a pretty big word that sticks out from your entire sentence, "could." You have zero understanding or proof that Harris's policies will do anything. If you bothered to do any research into Harris's history, she single handedly voted yes to taxing service tips in CA when she was Senator, under the guise of "lowering inflation." Well, the inflation never lowered and yet CA are siphoning even more money from it's citizens thanks to electricity rate increases making it one of the highest in the nation, all while raising fees and rent. Maybe your special education classes aren't teaching you that rampant spending along with high taxation to the middle class still doesn't fix the problem after 4 years of this current garbage administration?
@fernandoavila75113 ай бұрын
@@DaSneakyAzn LOL. You said I ride the short bus but then proceed to give me a bs response.You can’t cherry pick the word “could” because it is all words at the end of the day. The voters expect what is promised and is it their right. Speaking of voting, NO. Kamala did not vote or implement those taxation policies you mentioned. There is a lot of misinformation surrounding that especially because tips have been subject to taxation by the IRA for years. As for Fees and Rent that is subject to other avenues of approval. As you know, corporations outright buying single family homes and the sick renters bubble make up a lot of those increases in expenses. I suggest you get with it and research then come back with a good debate.

Why have some companies reported record high profits? If it was because of supply chain issues, wouldn’t their profits be proportional to their costs and not having record highs?
@rajx712019 күн бұрын
Profits are never proportional to the cost. It depends on how much the goods and services are valued by the buyer, such that the buyer finds it worth paying for it.
@shawnpatton379519 күн бұрын
@@rajx7120 never is a long time. So if the minimum wage increased or fuel expenses increased, even then price increases would not be proportional?
@rajx712018 күн бұрын
@@shawnpatton3795 Have you ever run a business? Would you like it, if govt decided how much profit you can make, or what prices you can set? Prices and therefore, profits, ultimately depend on demand i.e. what people are willing to pay. You can't fault someone for making a profit. That's what pays for the employees. And it's from these, that taxes get paid, sales tax is generated.
