CORRECTION: A singular piece of confetti is called a confetto, because it's derived from Italian, not Latin. It's so named in reference to sugar-coated almonds that were popular treats during Carnival (prior to Lent). The small pieces of paper thrown during celebrations resemble the almonds. However, to give credit to Seth, confettum would be correct if the word was a neuter word in the second declension in Latin.

Maybe you should also think about limiting the power of SCOTUS so that consequential decisions such as women's rights, whether corporations can give infinite amount of money to bribe politicians, whether the government has the power to mandate vaccination during a deadly pandemic etc, are to be decided by the people via referendums or some other forms, instead of being decided by a handful of justices who were elected by no one. When they decided that Supreme Court justices should serve for a lifetime, nobody could have known how much longer people were going to live 250 years later. Also, the Constitution is not very prescriptive about what the Supreme Court is supposed to do, only that there should be one and a few other scant details. The early court mostly just travelled around the country and decided cases that needed a final authority to settle disputes. It was never intended to be as powerful a position as it became. That part isn't the problem--government should be able to change with the times to meet new needs--but much like with natural selection, we only seem to change certain parts of the system at a time and constantly leave dumb vestigial parts that don't work anymore or even get in the way of things functioning properly.
