Once in Switzerland I did enter on the opposite side of a one way bus only road because I didn't understand the signals and the navi was bringing me there! Then I met a bus on coming to me and I had to reverse all the road back! I was so ashamed but still confused because the navi wanted me to go in any case through that road

The problem I have with the new automatic lane arrows (at least in a right side drive city like this) is illustrated perfectly @25:11. To keep traffic moving on a two lane road at a four-way intersections, you would want the turning lane that cuts across traffic to be dedicated; the opposite of what it does. For example, here you would want the left lane to be left turn only and the right lane to be straight and right, since neither of these actions have to wait for oncoming traffic.
@paulsaunders1934 жыл бұрын
Correct! I've been studying the lane arrows in my own city and they don't all follow the same pattern. It's left hand drive here and at one junction it may be lane 1 left only and lane 2 straight on and right, but at the next junction it may be lane 1 left and straight on, lane 2 right only. It all depends on the what kind of junction it is and how much traffic comes from each direction. As a general rule though, what you said makes the most sense, especially at traffic lights. Often a 2 lane road (1 each way) will split into an asymmetrical road (2/1 or 3/1) just before the junction (especially if it's busy). Changing to 3/1 at the junction is the best way to split the traffic at lights.
@KaybsGaming4 жыл бұрын
I think it depends on which is the major road. The major road needs a dedicated "cross traffic" left lane, and share straight and right, as they are both "free". The subsidiary road should dual straight and left, leaving a dedicated right turn lane. For the subsidiary road, going straight or left crosses the main roads traffic. If you have time to do one, you have time to do the other. Subsidiary roads right turning lane have a greater chance of sneaking through, and you don't want them stuck behind people waiting to get straight through.
@paulsaunders1934 жыл бұрын
@@KaybsGaming Yes, I agree, if there's no traffic lights and the major road has priority. If there are traffic lights, there's often a short slip road (left in my case, right in yours) that acts as a turning lane and bypasses the lights. Easy enough to add if you have a bit of space on the corner, otherwise an asymmetrical 3/1 road works better.

Biffa just so you know you were looking at the number of workers/number of available jobs stat not the number of workers to upgrade stat, the number of workers to upgrade stat is on the left hand side of the info box. For example your farm has 110 workers, and 115 available jobs, but you need 150 workers to upgrade. In all of your industries you need to provide more jobs for the area to be able to upgrade.

27:04 You keep referencing the wrong workers amount. You need the workers amount bottom left of the popup, as there is place for the amount of workers in the bottom right. at 27:04 for example you need 150 workers for level-up, there is however place for 115 workers. Currently there are 110 people employed at that company. Considering there is a need for population growth 110 out of 115 people working there, there aren't going to be more people working there unless you expand the industry.

And you play brilliantly. I love your series on fixing traffic problems. Your solutions are brilliant as they are eloquent. I love how you've designed Teaville. The precision by which you lay out and plot your districts is fascinating to watch your mind at work. I would like to suggest "Sipity Downs" for one of your more exclusive districts as an homage to "Auntie Mame" (Rosalind Russell, 1958). The in-laws-to-be, the Upsons name their country estate "Upson Downs".

I think the reason you dont have workers in the industry areas is that you aren't providing enough workplaces. Add more buildings for them to work in will probably get you the workers you need. Thought it was this because there's high industry demand, which means people want to work.

Can you make a running/biking trail park along the beach/riverfront? Could even add in a boardwalk pier at the tip (27:37) for some added elegance. [and this is me, but I'd change the tip houses to more high density residential. If you put in a park path and a boardwalk, it makes most sense to have small homes else where].. @Spido68_the_spectator4 жыл бұрын
That thing actually never works when comming on a roundabout as which lane(s) goes to which lane(s) is assigned automaticly due to the arrows going left or right. You can't change it unless you use lane connectors. HOWEVER it will work automaticly (no need to enable it with tmpe) if you use a realistic setup with the triangular shape (rather than the road just hitting the roundabout) as the arrows, depending of the position of the road joining, may point straight.
