You'll then see several hundred banking agencies pop up by the squiggly toll road exit, dutifully "helping" families that go instantly bankrupt as they try to leave the city. Also, used car dealerships. Trade in your brand new car for a smelly clunker, and get at least enough money to leave the city. Also cowboy stations. Folks on horses wranglin' up families who outright abandon their cars mid-journey and try to sneak out by foot without paying.

I did the calculations for the second version of tolls: 39 tolls at 4$ each means it costs 156$ to enter or leave the city. (Then multiply per car passing through). Last model is 108$ to enter or leave

I put tolls at all the highway entrances to my city because everytime I checked the source & destination of my congested roads jt was always personal cars from outside the city causing problems. I have pretty decent public transit but will need to do some metro reworks soon. I'm annoyed because i have an airport and trainstation to soak up intercity visitors. I just wish xbox version had useful mods and not just random assets. (I would kill for traffic manager to optimize intersections, lane mathmatics can only do so much)

6:00 i know i'm years late, but the reason for this is that the game calculates the distance the Car/Pedestrian has to travel, if the shortest route is above a certain threshold, he will simply teleport there, hence why you have noone going thourgh your tollbooths, but houses are being built, seemingly out of thin air, because they are, they are teleported there.

if you use traffic president you can up the toll speed to 100kp/h or 100mp//h idk exactly (fast) , and if you then turn on electronic tolls your cims wont slow down in the tolls

What if you did this... make the entrance to the city a really long stretch of 6 Lane Highway that funnels to a single Lane Road. Then queue hundreds and hundreds of toll roads. Paste in a bunch of huge new sections so there is an enormous traffic jam. Then disconnect the single-lane road and run it into the huge chain of toll roads and see how much money you make.

With the toll booth, there was 42 booth which cost 120 each with a tool expenditure of 5040 - Profit of 4610 leaves a net loss of 430. I have observed similar losses with tool booths I have used in my cities. However, I have found that profit can be made when there is heavy traffic on a road and a toll booth is used . However, it's interesting how past a certain number of tool booth that cars and truck will refuse to travel through them. If the amount paid at toll booths could be set higher than the default max amount then perhaps this could be sued as a measure to reduce traffic in certain parts of the city and encourage mass transport and walking.
