Drake. Back in 80s. My friends and I used to call our cougars cardiac kids. You have no idea what it was like being a BYU fan. The press coined quarterback university. Being in Provo at cougar stadium. Yes it wasn't LES then. Was electric. You just knew BYU had a chance if our offense was on the field. And our defense was pretty darn good too. Lol. Yes among my friends we called them the cardiac kids. ❤😂❤

I wonder if this conference expansion is actually the plan. I mean, by diluting the conference with more teams than you can play in a season, you can get through the schedule without having to play all the best. 'look at how many ranked teams are in the SEC! What a powerful conference!!" but with so many teams they don't have to face each other. This give them the chance to keep their ranking and keep the the illusion of strength. Because the BIG 10 has so many teams Indiana is able to remain unbeaten. Until the conference championship. Miami and SMU can coast through until the championship but still be seen as playing a 'Power' schedule. And even BYU benefits, they don't play Iowa State, Texas Tech, or Colorado; giving them a pretty clear shot to the title but still a 'power' schedule. It was a lot harder to go undefeated in the Power conferences when they were only 10 to 12 teams, (or 8, remember the Big 8??). And they figured that out, and the CFP rankings reflect that.

I think over the years we’ll see things balance out. But, even as a Buff fan I’m not stupid enough to buy that BS. The ACC, BIG and SEC have earned their stripes. It’s been awhile for the B12 to have any serious depth. You can’t discount the breakout team but it’s gonna be a while before they have more than one team in the top 10 consistently.

I am grateful that the media is finally talking about the Big 12 being on top. The SEC and B1G Conferences are utterly predictable with their blowouts or even their close games. It is as fun and exciting as watching reruns and the same teams are following the script that you have a copy of before the game starts.

Go ahead scores don't make for an entertaining game, it just means that all the teams are on parr with each other and average. The Big XII Champion will get in, and maybe 1 other. There is no way the Big XII gets more than two. Big 10 and SEC will each have 4 teams and maybe 5. Big 10 has 4 teams and SEC has 3 teams in the Top 10. Big XII is nowhere near on parr with either the B10 or SEC.

5 teams in Big Ten ranked ahead of every team in Big 12, according to Sagarin ratings. This doesn't include USC or Michigan or Washington or Wisconsin, all of which are down this year. Nebraska has been down for a few decades. Big Ten has more of a standard distribution between the teams, which is sustainable long term. The parity in Big 12 is not sustainable.
