BYU is going to thrive in this Conference! That being said, I keep hearing “BYU going 12-0…..” like it’s a foregone conclusion; I hope they do but it’s REALLY HARD to go 12-0. Go Cougs!!
@readegloeckner6532Күн бұрын
There is always a team prepared to beat the one unbeaten and with a team that has good matchups and plays their best game, the cougars could have a lapse and voilà the loss occurs. Losses keep teams humble and if they are a religious team, they will understand this concept. Look at Houston beating Kansas State. How about Texas Tech over Iowa State. BYU cannot afford to lose two but they can lose one and win the tie break against either Colorado or Iowa State.

The anticipation to see what the rest of the season holds for BYU is killing me. If they keep playing as good as they have been, then i expect 12-0. That said, all of this speculation about how strong the conference is or is not doesnt really matter until we see how the playoffs go. If BYU goes into the playoff undefeated and gets blown out in their first game, then the entire conference will look terrible. Conversely, if somehow BYU were to win the national championship, then suddenly, that parity everyone has been saying is present in the Big 12 makes the whole conference look fantastic. If we're all so close to each other in strength, then one of us wins it all? Well, that would be good news. These are hypotheticals, i dont currently think BYU will win a natty, but it would be cool

They just don’t get enough 5 star recruits but they sure get the most out of their recruits and for their bang for their buck probably has the best team in the nation without all those stars that will end up in the NFL. The most important part of any player is always speed, even the linemen. Either you are born with it or not. You cannot teach speed. So SEC and Big Ten schools recruit with speed as the most important aspect. The other stuff you can teach. Sometimes the other stuff taught can help against those with speed.

Not yet on BYU, need to see Retzleff keep getting better each week. The Big 12 is the toughest Conference in America from top to bottom. No other Conference has so many teams that could knock off a team at the top and your not really surprised. When I saw Texas Tech beat Iowa St or when Houston beat the Wildcats I wasn't surprised, Most every team in the Big 12 will send multiple guy's to the NFL, ALL -AMERICANS, every team in the big 12 has some. BYU will send multiple guy's on both sides of the ball and special teams to the league they are tough and Good -Great in all 3 phases. Do I think they could beat Oregon on any given Saturday on a neutral field 1 game for the Chip, Hell yes, do I think Colorado could, Hell yes. I could probably go on with 1 more team but you get it. The Big 12 is as competitive as any Conference and has just as much a shot at the Natty than anybody else. Amen and hallelujah God Bless everybody on this day to Vote!!!!!

Don’t need to force punts if your getting turnovers and stopping them on 4th.
@malaw514Күн бұрын
@@glaucidiumgnoma5797 4th down conversion rating isn’t all that great either. And relying on turnovers is not a sustainable strategy. Given both Sitaki’s and Hills comments on the defense needing to force more three and outs and getting off the field it’s not a debatable point.

These narratives kill me. It's in no way bad for the Big 12 is winning and could win the conference. If that's the case..... then no ACC school should be ranked in the top 15. Because SMU having the season they are having their first season out of the G5 would have to mean that the ACC is on the same level as the AAC. And I'm not hearing anyone point out that a G5 school is winning a P4 conference their first year in.

@ no but you stated that the ties didn’t want to be in a conference with BYU because Utah was outclassed by BYU. So when BYU played Utah over the past 20 years and not in the same conference, most of the time it was Utah that won and BYU was outclassed. So your statement was incorrect. By the way I’m a BYU fan in all sports not just football. Now if you were to say that the integrity of the players is much better than Utah players in general and that BYU outclasses Utah, that would be a true statement. Look at the Olympic Games and we see that hard work paid off as two Olympic marathon runners were from BYU and two steeplechase runners were from BYU because they have great attitudes and integrity in their training.

@bobbypaluga43463 сағат бұрын
None of the teams BYU will be playing has a chance to win the Big12, so if the Cougars win out it only helps the league over all. The ESPN analylitics has BYU rated 4th which is great for the conference. When K-State plays Iowa State someone is coming out with at least two losses. Leaving the winner to potentially play BYU in the championship, if BYU wins out. As far as the Cougars having a bad 2023 and being picked to finish 13th, the talking heads put way to much attention to the single season. In 2021 BYU was top 10 finishing 11 or 12-1, in 2021 they beat Utah, USC and 4 other PAC 12 teams theoretically winning the PAC 12.
