Fun fact: according to Robert Loggia, on the day they filmed the keyboard scene at FAO Schwarz, he and Tom Hanks noticed that doubles dressed like them were on hand just in case the two could not do the dance moves correctly. It became their goal to do the entire keyboard number without the aid of the doubles. They succeeded.

Sorry to tell you, memories of this alternative ending are simply a case of the Mandela effect. No such ending exists. There is however a movie that was released the same year as Big which has an ending eerily similar to what you describe; 14 going on 30. I suspect this is the source for these "memories". As I was a big Dungeons & Dragons player as a kid, I remember him from Mazes and Monsters (1982). A pretty dark movie that played into the fears that adults had at the time that us D&D kids would all end up in Satanic Death Cults.

Ashley, baby corn is literally just corn that's harvested when it's small, before it matures. When it matures the cob becomes tough and unpleasant for people to chew but when they're small the cob is soft and very edible so those tiny ones you just eat whole. They're fine, try them.

Bouncing on the trampoline with Elizabeth Perkins is my favorite part. The raw innocence displayed was so charming. Always felt sorry for Susan, never being able to pursue her true love. Great movie, fun review, the limo story got me a little angry, but the world is full of horses asses. Your the best Ashleigh! Keep rising above!

My absolute favorite fact about this movie is that they basically made it twice. Tom Hanks and Penny Marshall reportedly wanted his performance and that of David Moscow(Kid Josh) to sync up all the mannerisms and everything so they got Moscow to perform the adult sections so Hanks could come in and mimic him exactly. That's why you don't see a big gap in the personalities. I hear they also did something like that for Forest Gump. Really cool, in my opinion.

He was also the voice of the main character in the criminally underrated animated show, The Critic. 2. John Heard. Actually, it's neither. It's one-wall paddleball. Both racquetball and squash are played in an indoor court, but with somewhat different rules. Also, both racquetball and squash use stringed racquets, while paddleball uses a big paddle with no strings (similar to a ping pong paddle).

@@themoviedealers It really shouldn't shatter anything. That is what GREAT actors do. They observe someone who is like the type of person they're trying to portray. It helps them make a more realistic performance. If you had to play an old person, wouldn't it be good to watch them? Check out how they walk, talk and move so you can be realistic? If you don't do something like that, your acting will "miss a few notes", and not look right. Subtle things can make, or break a performance. As to my "old people" example: You can actually tell from FOOTPRINTS if the person was an old, or a young man! A young guy has a spring in his step. Therefore, the balls of his feet makes a deeper impression, compaired to his heels. An old man conserves his energy. The bottom of HIS prints are more even from front to back, 'cuz he doesn't push off like a young dude. Not that long ago, they made a movie with Robert De Niro, where they "de-aged" him digitally. I remember complaints that he LOOKED young, but moved like an old man. It just didn't look "right".

I never had to do that, but I did have to learn how to edit the autoexec.bat and config.sys to have enough free RAM, and even had to RTFM to know which "system" files I could delete to free up enough HDD space. Thankfully never had to do the 2x 5.25" juggling my elders had to do. 😉

One of my family's favorites from back in the day. And , to this day, there are a TON of people who swear they saw a different version of the ending, where Susan went back to the Zoltar machine, wished to be Josh's age, and reunited with him. Finding the footage of this supposed ending has become one of those holy grails of the internet.

The amusement park that is featured in this movie is called "Playland" and is located in Rye New York. I have been there as a young lad many times. In fact a company that I worked for in the 1970's would rent the entire park out for a day every summer. We would bring our children and EVERYTHING was free. The rides, the food and the arcades. All free.

That story breaks my heart because of all the stuff I saw some people go through in high school... I wish no one had to have stories like that, but I guess that is not realistic to wish for. I am sure it wasn't a horrible evening, and in the picture you look gorgeous. It is funny that NOW, anyone in your class would jump through fire just to be lucky enough to escort you anywhere... The limo would be JUST for YOU. I wish I had the ability to make it happen, but at this moment, I want to send a limo to pick you and Blake up, just to go to Arby's and then maybe bowling then a milkshake.... just for the hell of it. When I rewatched this movie recently, it reminded me why 80s movies are so good! Get an idea, however wacky, focus on making it entertaining and don't let too much real-world logic get in the way. There's just something so wonderful, charming, naive and joyful about movies like Big... and just think about if it were to be made today. There would be a serious side plot regarding his family's trauma at Josh's kidnapping, and there's no way that he could be allowed to sleep with an older woman!! And Tom Hanks, man... what an actor! Can't wait to see your reaction to Forrest Gump! 😁

The initial cubicle neighbor was Jon Lovitz. He's an SNL alum that's been in many TV shows and movies such as A League Of Their Own and City Slickers II. (You may want to check those out). As far as the musical steps are concerned, pretty sure that could never happen because other kids would run on and spoil the performance. Here's a fun fact you probably didn't care to know(lol). The whiteboard used in the meeting was called a Copyboard. It came on the market when I was an office supply sales rep. It could scan and produce a paper copy of anything written on the board, but it could still be erased like any dry erase board. We were all so impressed when we saw a demonstration from Quartet, the manufacturer.

Looking at it from our older point of view the "would you go back to being a kid?" is very different. What I mean is we are looking at it from the "Would *I* go through all that again?". Many of us could have different answers, and many could vary from day to day. However to me, the answer for Josh is an easier "Yes". Because he hasn't lived through that part of his life yet. It's basically a different question, because of the perspective. We're asking if we'd live it AGAIN, while he needs to live that part of his life, like the rest of us did. The time for a successful career will come later.
