The Big 12 Insiders is a streaming show hosted by former Kansas State football player Brien "Big B" Hanley. It covers everything related to and affecting the new 16-school Big 12 Conference. In today's edition, former Big 12 offensive lineman Brien Hanley is joined by 247 site publisher Tim Fitzgerald to discuss Hanley's second edition of his weekly Big 12 Power Rankings measured against the power rankings poll of the 247Sports Big 12 publishers and managing editor. They will appear each Tuesday throughout the 2024 football season.

As another Utah fan. I believe it’s because Big B believes in a neutral site TT would beat BYU. I agree with Big B.

The logic is just inconsistent, on others you mention there is only one game to assess their play, but looking at the one game BYU played better than TT, and that really pains me to say. Anyway, thanks for the show it’s helping me learn about all the new conference teams.

You weren’t as bad as your record in ‘22 when you had a tough schedule and you weren’t as good as your record last year when you had the easiest schedule in the league. WVU is a solid middle road Big XII team, capable of beating anyone in the Big XII at home but you might take some lumps on the road. I’m thinking 7-5 and a bowl game is a reasonable expectation.

I think you guys have a great team but I am going to put my money on Ohio State because State Penn doesn't believe they can beat them.... and that hurts me and I am not a fan ... Joe Pa said it best when he said WVU will beat State Penn when they have better players and gets State Penn to play them ... smart scheduling goes a long way with State Penn ... Thanks for playing us, even if our middle of the road coaching is temp, at best ... see ya in ten years... unless we suck and I guess will will see you sooner.

A leading fcs team might not immediately compete for a P4 championship, but with additional scholarship resources of an fbs team they certainly can. Example is ksu coach.

Lindenwood has progressed reasonably through the past, even if quickly, but absolutely were way over matched. Glorified scrimmage. Only 2nd half possessions total with 3rd and 4th string each getting possessions.

At this point, Arizona State showed that they should be ranked at least as high as UCF. I get it, the preseason bias is still in effect, but Arizona State is much better than 12.

Hard to say. I think they’re better than expected, but will need to see more to know HOW much better. Wyoming was expected to be pretty bad this year. They lost nearly everything on both sides of the ball.

That their defense was still going to be traditionally solid. Now.. . They lost everything. Uh huh. Guess we'll see when they play BYU. Maybe Wyoming will be good good again.

@@elche1976 I wasn't one of those picking Wyoming to win. And btw, I got my opinion from an ASU fan. I was on another board where people were picking Wyoming to upset ASU, and an ASU fan came on and gave a breakdown of why they're better and gave a breakdown of why Wyoming was going to not be good. It was a pretty good analysis. Wyoming lost a ton. Their head coach not the least of their losses. So both things can be true. ASU can be better, and Wyoming can be a shell of what they were last year.

Lindenwood was bad, but no Fitz they are not D2 level bad. I played at Ft Hays and know that level of competition. Lindenwood would have beat the breaks off of us. And the D2 team they did play last year they beat 77-9. Of course Lindenwood is bad, but Tennessee Martin and Lindenwood had two common opponents last year. Eastern Illinois and Tennessee Tech. UTM beat both teams in OT. Lindenwood lost to Eastern Illinois in a competitive game 10-16 and they beat Tennessee Tech 23-0. Lindenwood is bad but there are worst FCS teams out there. And KU did what all the other top teams in the Big XII did. They played vanilla offense and ran the same 5 plays over and over again. Jalon Daniels showed no rust, that’s the important thing. He had one miscommunication with his receiver where he threw the wrong route, but other than that every pass was on the money.

Hello. I don't know about oter followers, but I think you guys are too bias for your team. Could you tell the audience what ranking are you referring to when you compare your ranking to theirs. For example, 365 Sport suggested the following top 4 teams: Utah, Ok St, Kansas, KSU. So which ranking is the right one. It seems like it depend on the source giving the rankings.

I never have understood why people do these power ranking. Its weekly on how the team did this week. The 3 losers should be in the bottom. Best win would be asu beating a g5 or osu beating the number 1 fcs.

​@ryankrause4880 I understand why thy do it. I was meaning why they do it this way. Power ranking should be a weekly thing. This is the first week. Colorado mite not did as well as people think, but they beat the 2nd ranked fcs. Utah beat a poor fcs team from a week league. Look at what people are saying about Arkansas beating the worst fcs team. Top 5 fcs schools would beat 3/4 quarter of or better of fbs school.

@@Big12Insiders we all ready have rankings. Power ranking should be who and how they won. There us a big difference playing a top ranking fcs then a not. No feelings just by the numbers.
