I remember when I just started watching Adam, Bruce, Lawrence, and James in a tiny and dark machinima office when you guys kept saying James was an intern. That was pretty much the better part of 4 years ago. I instantly fell in love with all of your personalities as well as your content. Now you guys are basically on your own channel, adding more amazing members like Peake, Omar, and Elyse, and making your own content. I seriously couldn't be happier. surprisingly a lot of old naval vessels did have "toilets" that were basically holes in the ship that dropped the shit into the water. there were, however some portapotty style toilets that just held onto the shit, these were located at the very front of the ship usually. as you could guess though, the shitty smell would waft from the front of the ship all across the ship so they moved them to the very back. this is why the foremost deck of the ship is usually called the "poop deck". this is one of the things they teach you in navy boot camp.

Hello! Tall ship sailor here! I watch your videos on time off (if there's wifi at port) and I'm going to tell you about how sailors used the restroom in the 1700-1800s. We call the bathrooms "heads" because, back in the day, sailors would climb onto the headrig (the bow and below-bow structure) and shit into the sea. Poop-deck is a bastardization of an ancient French or Latin word meaning "furthest back" or "aft" and it was never used as a bathroom. But they did go over the side of the ship!
