That could’ve been an extra 2 pounds, but all of the bass are responding right now, bro. I caught the best that was 6 pounds and it would’ve been eight, but it was spawning and it was like literally dying bro.
@CCC303THIZZ12 күн бұрын
It’s called Spawning Not responding And yes the mothers hit everything early spring Cuz once the water temp hits a certain temp (not 100% sure so not gonna just make up some bullshit like most) They lay their eggs And the mothers don’t leave over the nest area You can see them in shores or in cove like areas and when you cast your bait at em It looks like they’re gonna go after it to bite it But it’s really the mother chasing away any potential predators to the eggs And the males like to go out to 10ft or deeper after the spawn And it ends mid July This fish he caught tho def was a tank at one time by the size of its jaws It’s didn’t match with the body Def haven’t been eating how it should be

Back in the 1980's my brother and I went to the lake at the country club. I had worked on the course cutting fairways and tees and my little brother was currently working there doing the same. If you know bass in those ponds you know it's common for 4 or 5 of the big bass to cruise the shore just before the sun goes down. I've seen it many times in many places. Just as we walk up to the East side of #17 green I see 4 big bass together cruising through the shallows in front of #16 tee heading away from us. I had on a #3 Purple Mepps spinner and I casted it out as far as I could the other side of them, and reeled back slow so the spinner blade was barely turning. The one that grabbed it was was 4lbs. 10 oz. I know of a 2 lb. crappie that came out of that lake too back in the 1950's. If you can get permission, they can be great fishing. Of course the caveat on golf course fish is the fungicides and weed killers that go on the golf course often end up in the ponds and the fish.

No offense when saying this, but it would be excellent to see the younger fishermen coming up treat the fish with more concern. I understand the excitement that catching a monster creates, but it hurts(and possibly kills) these fish having their slime compromised. A quality fin saver net is an invaluable investment. Just trying to give some good advice that benefits all fishermen and the fish we catch. Congratulations on the catch. She’s a beast.
