TMII is supposed to be the miniature of Indonesia. It is unfortunate that you didn’t get to see the museums (there’s quite a few), but the main highlights are the provincial pavilions, each representing one or more vernacular architecture style from each province in Indonesia. Imagine pavilions representing the 10 provinces and three territories of Canada (Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, etc) except that we have 34 provinces and special territories (soon 38). You can enter each vernacular structure, get general information, rent traditional attire, etc. Each province also holds regular cultural events. I understand that it’s difficult to get the information in English, but believe me, it’s not that easy to have one in Indonesian either 😂

ha ha I see! Yes thank you for the information. It was just difficult to navigate and translate! We also realized that we missed the entire area that was open ( we saw it from the cable car!) but it started to rain so we had to leave but its a beautiful spot and a valuable source of information. Yes, I love the cultural diversity found here. Canada is similar in that we have many people from all over the world living everywhere in Canada too! We love Jakarta. Sadly we leave on Sunday after exploring indonesia for a month. We will visit Malaysia for a month and then philippines for a month as it has all been pre planned but we will be back to Jakarta and Java in September! Taman Mini Indonesia Indah was actually just renovated and reopened last year. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah will also be one of the venues for the ASEAN Summit this year, because this year Indonesia is the chair of ASEAN.

@@JennandLeon You can still come to the Indonesian museum in central Jakarta, there are also more collections there than at TMII. This year the season is unpredictable, actually this month Indonesia has entered the dry season, but in some areas it still rains a lot.

Then we went to Kalimantan to Balikpapan for a week. And now Jakarta for the week. We will be back to JAVA in September to explore the island fully! If you are still at Jakarta, you can try to visit any island in Thousand Islands (Pulau Seribu). Famous one are Pulau Tidung, Pulau Putri, Pulau Pramuka. If you have "extra" budget, can try visit Pulau Macan or Asha Beach Club and Resort. 😊

When you back to Indonesia next Sept and want to explore Java, I think several spots below are must to put on your list. - Dataran Tinggi Dieng (Dieng Plateau) in Central Java - Dusun Butuh (Butuh Village) in Magelang Regency, Central Java. It's well known as Nepal Van Java. - Borobudur Temple in Magelang and Prambanan Temple in Yogyakarta (those 2 cities quite close tho) - Mount Bromo in East Java - Baluran National Park in Situbondo, East Java - Prigen Safari in Pasuruan, East Java. Actually there are 3 safaris in Indonesia. They are in Bogor (West Java), Pasuruan (East Java) and Bali. Cities: - Bandung - Yogyakarta Special Region - Surakarta - Malang and Batu City - Banyuwangi

@@JennandLeon My pleasure. Aha, I see. If you like ancient things, Yogyakarta and Surakarta would be suit for you. There are four Monarchies that still exist since hundred years ago till today with their historical Royal Palaces there. In Yogyakarta there are two Royal Palaces, Keraton Yogyakarta (The royal residence of The Kingdom of Yogyakarta) and Puro Pakualaman (The royal residence of The Duchy of Puro Pakualaman). You can visit all of them and explore around. In Surakarta, there are two Royal Palaces as well. Keraton Surakarta as the royal residence of The Kingdom of Surakarta and Puro Mangkunegaran as the royal residence of The Duchy of Mangkunegaran. Puro Mangkunegaran is must visit spot if you are in Surakarta. Furthermore, you can visit two Royal Family Cemetery in Yogyakarta. The first, Makam Raja Kota Gede located in Kota Gede, around 5 KM from downtown. The second one is Makam Raja Imogri that located in the hill in the southern part of Yogyakart approximately 12 KM. Not so far from the Cemetery, there is sunrise spot nearby, Kebun Buah Mangunan. Apart from that, Yogyakarta, Central Java and East Java are well known as the home of hundred temples as well. Yes absolutely right. To explore Java, train or bus are smart choices. For the example to mobile from Yogyakarta to Surakarta (vice versa), you can use commuterline/ electric train (KRL). If you want to see island go to the north for the sixth district of Jakarta 1000 island, there are many island with white sand beach you can go to the Marina at north Jakarta Ancol. Ancol also the beach In north Jakarta. Also you can try there Indonesia Disneyland : Dufan. If you want to see art and architecture building you can go to Cikini Raya street at Taman Ismail Marzuki for art and exhibition also public library there if you want to see Indonesia literacy. At Cikini Raya also have some local coffee shop with a good choice of food. Try my fav Local burger at Menteng Belly Bandit you Will love it. Or another local with many coffee In indonesia Jakarta Coffee house at Wahid Hasyim. If you want to see local indonesia brand go to Sarinah

Yes it actually considered bad luck in most countries we've been to! But Leon broke his leg when he was 10 in 13 places (he was hit by a car) and his leg healed just fine! So that is why it is his lucky number :) I'm glad you are enjoying the videos. Thanks for following along with us!
