The F-16s that they will deliver to Ukraine, are 50 year old jets. They are not the latest modernized technology jets. I think they wanted to get rid of them...

Because F-16 is "western made", so it is assumed that it would drastically change the dynamic of the war. They also had high hope for the "western tanks". Leopard tanks, Challenger tanks, and later on, the much talked about the "jet engine driven" Abrams tanks. The state of the game wasn't changed with the deployment of these "game changers". I fact, the opposite is true. Russia is now taking even more territory.

The order for jets has been jettisoned. So instead have the new kind of Danish F-16, the new name for Danish pastry. It cannot fight shovels, it doesn't do too well in washing-machines, but it will change the game, right?

Understand the logistics of defending against such power. Ukraine troops are exhausted. They can hardly lift an artillery shell anymore. They need relief from reserves but that is not happening. The human part of this calculation is critical but western powers seem to pretend its not important. Food, ammo, water, and medical supplies need to be delivered. Troops need to sleep. If FAB 500 bombs are landing all night long its hard to sleep. Sleep deprivation will turn anyone into a zombie.

If those aircraft ever show up, they will be piloted with NATO officers out of uniform (Foreign Legion) as cover. But Ukraine will still lose the war.
