Lunar certified. In particular I think teasing out the good cop/bad cop routine Mace and Olenna likely played with Littlefinger is spot on. I think the key to understanding who Littlefinger is working for in that deal is that he's 'juggling' both sides. He has risen up in the Baratheon order and wants his prize out of the Lannisters. So he has to make them feel like he saved the day. But he's also okay with the Tyrells gaining leverage over the Lannisters and the throne as long as they aren't spooked to early. You mention a key phrase from Olenna. "It is easy to mount a lion and not so easy to get off, I warned him." Mounting the lion is straightforward enough. They are marrying and allying with the Lannisters. But getting off? Why would she want to get off the lion? Are they not in this for the long haul? Littlefinger knows the Baratheon/Lannister order is on the way out. So he doesn't have a problem undermining them in the medium term if it helps him get his prize confirmed by the next regime. So their negotiation is like the cons conning the con in one sense. But also it's like a chess game they are playing with each other, and with the Lannisters. They are both trying to get into positions of power within the Lannister order so that they can stab them in the back and come out on top in Aegon's new, reformed Targaryen realm. 😘 My new videos are about this.

A while ago InDeepGeek put forward another good bit of evidence for big brain Mace: the siege of storms end. Mace spent a huge chunk of Robert's rebellion doing fucking nothing of military consequence. The siege accomplished nothing and never had any chance of accomplishing anything MILITARILY. But politically I think he actually succeeded, I think he pulled a much more convincing Late Lord Walder. The crown couldn't convincingly argue Mace as not being loyal, but he also didn't really do anything to hurt the Baratheon cause or loose any appreciable number of men. You could even get a bit conspiratorial and say he let Davos through on purpose because he never actually wanted to take the castle

Varys DID kill Tywin though, didn't he? I mean...he took him RIGHT there and said what he said. Did what he did and did NOT do shit to stop him. Varys knew Shae was in that room. In that scene Varys is NO different than Roose when Roose is goading people into killing themselves/getting themselves killed. is he? I might be reading it wrong-I don't want to do that. O and when Varys is taking Tyrion there-they go into the Maegor Level of the Dungeon and Varys walks Tyrion through in the dark so that Tyrion cannot see the 'horrors' that. It kinda felt like when in a game and I am trying to sneak past a Boss Fight lol

In the bad dragon show, Mace refers to a "King Maegor III", a monarch who extremely did not exist. Is there some way to fit this into the theory? I don't know, maybe. Did dumb and dumber just make up a new monarch even though a full list of Targaryen kings already existed? I guess we can't put anything past them, but there may have been some reason they had Mace specifically name check a king who never existed
