Big Brother is voluntary. Nobody forces anybody to go on it. The people filmed have asked to be filmed. The real Big Brother is a certain auditor who hypocritically hides behind a camera.

On the subject of receiving radio messages, many years ago I was living in the south of France. One Sunday afternoon, I suddenly heard voices in my living room. When I went in to find out what was happening, I discovered that my radio, which was switched off, was picking up police messages. Never found out how this could happen.
@streetvideoreviewer
@streetvideoreviewer 7 ай бұрын
Two possible causes for that are: 1. You lived near a transmitter and your radio picked up signals even when off. 2. Your amplifier was issuing faulty output when off. Until the 1990s, it was easy to scan police radio here in the UK and when I was a boy it was the thing everybody did. Then they encrypted it, which ended that. Not sure what the position is in France.

I do find it amusing that DJ Audits tells people that it is down to them to create their own privacy and yet when someone turned up at his business he found himself in the same boat and didn't have a mask to put on. No working person really goes around prepared to protect their privacy, they rely on others to behave in a reasonable manner towards them and not infringe on their privacy. There is no real legitimate need to zoom in on to identity cards in the manner he did.

The justification used by these so-called, self-appointed auditors is pretty lame and falls apart at the slightest examination. Take the photographer's rights defence. If they were conducting the type of normal photography amateur and professional photographers engage in they might have an arguement. Maybe there's a niche group of photographers who enjoy taking photos of businesses and sites on industrial estates that need their rights defended... But i very much doubt it. The DWP Job Centre ones always make me laugh too. I personally believe that customers, or whatever DWP calls them, should be entitled to audio and video record appointments or meetings they are having with DWP staff... How fuckwits wandering around the public areas filming leaflets and winding up minimum wage security staff will further that is beyond me.

Where DJ Audits comes from "brain cells" is pronounced "brain sales". He's sold his. Surely, if the security guard turns his badge to hide his details, he is still displaying the badge even though he is not showing his personal information. Likewise, could the badge not be put in a cover which shows only that it is an official badge but hides personal information?
@streetvideoreviewer
@streetvideoreviewer 7 ай бұрын
Yes, the badge can be in a cover as you state and is compliant, and door supervisors often display their badges in that way. However, it's not just the personal information, in my view it's the simple fact that he is SIA-licensed that could arguably be an infringement of privacy if broadcast to all the world. It's a further bit of information that helps identify him and a prompt for some nutter to make a complaint to the SIA.
@tomalex4806

@@streetvideoreviewerAlso as the SIA have an open public register which SIA license numbers, expiry dates, sector and role, name and status of the licence are displayed. So for example: Joe Blogs Number XXXXXXXX Sector Door Supervisor Role Front line Expiry January 2025 Status Suspended. I think that's how it goes anyway haven't looked in ages. I've seen Marti share someone's license details just by simply getting a still of the persons license and putting it into the SIA website. Which is a popular way of getting a complaint raised. The only thing which the SIA don't share is the photo on the card itself

The whole point of having the badge with details on display is so you can note their details if they have acted unprofessionially or gone beyond their limited powers . If it was only a cover that said 'official' on it and they assaulted you , do you really think they would give you their details upon request afterwards ? They need to be held accountable as a public body with powers , like the police etc do

Personally I think the laws need to change when It comes to Auditors and channel's like that they have no care or concern for the people who might not want to be filmed For example what if someone is filmed who has experienced abuse in their past and maybe the reason they don't want filmed is because they've had to move to get away from that part of their past auditors don't think about situations like that all they care about is themselves.

I have often wondered how these auditors get away with posting peoples audio and video who dont wish to be posted. Ch5 were heavily fined for this, this is why Ch5 now blurrs some peoples faces on their reality programs. So how do these auditors get away with it? "I dont wish my picture posted anywhere" "You'll be on KZbin this evening" Praps KZbin allow these videos because they make money from the adverisers. I wouldnt wish my SIA licence details or any other ID card details to be filmed and posted on here as these auditors do.

He’s on very thin ice here commercially. BB is a big revenue generator and his actions have caused consequential loss (lock down). Criminal Offences aside, if the production company can demonstrate that revenue has been lost (and I would suggest it can) as a result of his overly intrusive filming and drone flight then I’d be pretty worried about civil legal action if I were him. The Wireless Telegraphy Act will be the least of his worries! To even defend yourself against these media companies in court could easily run into tens of thousands, and to risk losing the case to pay damages and the other sides costs is very stupid indeed. You’re effectively putting your house at risk. They will not mess about if you disrupt their revenue stream and are likely to have a fairly sharp commercial litigation team. DJ isn’t silly and I wonder if that’s why he buggered off sharpish when they told him the house was in lockdown because of him. I’d genuinely be a bit worried if I were him.

If the scanner is a Uniden 125xlt or the 75xl they can pick up PMR signals transmitted in the clear. They are preprogrammed with them. I have a 125XLT I use for ATC and Marian bands. As I understand it I am legal on those frequency. But of he using a Bofan radio and eves dropping on security as much as I remember when I worked in the radio industry he have to program the radio with the correct frequency and colour code (Encryption) and he done that then he is most definitely committing a criminal act.
@streetvideoreviewer
@streetvideoreviewer 7 ай бұрын
I was into amateur radio when younger. I did refresh my knowledge prior to making this video. The way that OFCOM interpret the law today is that a transmission on public frequency is only considered 'general reception' if it is a licensed broadcast to the public (BBC and commercial radio) or amateur radio or CB radio. Otherwise equipment and frequency are irrelevant considerations to law. If the transmission is considered 'private' and is not CB or amateur radio, anybody intentionally eavesdropping is committing the offence under section 48(1)(a). In this case, DJ Audits tuned to the radio transmissions by security and listened in. He then realised that two different channels were being operated (I would assume one by the in-house team, the other by contractors) and made efforts to find out what the other frequency was. He then by chance picked up radio transmissions amongst staff inside the building. All of this was intentional eavesdropping. He definitely broke the law.

@streetvideoreviewer 6 ай бұрын
@@digitalanaloguehamradio Yes, point taken, but he didn't happen on the transmissions accidentally or inadvertently, he was purposefully scanning. Furthermore, even if we say - as a hypothetical - that it was accidental, it was still an offence because he continued to listen in full knowledge of what it was. Quite apart from all that, he then committed a further offence in that he broadcast what he was listening to, to his own viewers.

Would filming a commercial film set be copyright infringement?
@streetvideoreviewer
@streetvideoreviewer 7 ай бұрын
@atlanticx100 I assume your question relates to filming from the public highway. If your vantage point is from an area of private land where you depend on permission for access, then the landowner/occupier could impose whatever conditions they wish on your filming activity. From the public highway, it depends what the film set consists of. Buildings are protected by copyright under English law but there is a specific exception under section 62 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 which permits you to take a photograph or film of a building without infringing its copyright. This means that you do not require the permission of the owners of the copyright in a building to make a film or take a photograph of it. That probably covers most of what is found on 'film sets'. On the other hand, art work, trade marks, symbols, etc. used in a film set are protected by copyright (as well as trade mark, and may also be registered designs). If you film those in such a way that it is not purely incidental and is intended to exploit the copyrighted material for your own gain, then possibly there could be a breach of copyright (and/or trade mark infringement, passing-off, design infringement). I don't believe DJ Audits' filming of the Big Brother set could be described as incidental. It's not as if he was filming from a significant height for the purpose of capturing a general recording of the site, he was low enough to see details, was zooming in, and clearly was filming with the intention of capturing the set. I'm not sure that would amount to an infringement of intellectual property rights, though, and that notion didn't occur to me as I watched what he was doing.

@RedPillRachel I've come to the view that the data protection regime we currently have is about right. On its face, it seems Draconian, but on closer examination most of it is just common sense and reflects a need for due consideration for others. If you gave me your personal information as part of some sort of business and I then passed on your information to others without your consent, you'd be upset with me. If I film you at your place of work without a legitimate reason to do so and you object and I go ahead and upload the video anyway, you should have recourse in that situation and I should be required to justify myself if I'm infringing your privacy. before you ask "1.5 The journalism exemption applies if you: use personal data for journalism; • act “with a view to publication”; • reasonably believe that publishing is in the public interest; and • reasonably believe that complying with a specific part of data protection law is incompatible with journalism." journos don't have to comply in the way you claim.

@KalebsRevenge DJ does not meet any threshold of journalism. He is an instigator. He creates the interactions and it is the same over and over. There is no actual comment and as an active participant, there is no impartiality.
