Big Brush Fire Leads To Thunderstorm In Old House!

Join me at Old Byrd Farm for a day that starts with hard work and ends with an unexpected twist! Today's task involves tackling the massive brush pile, a collection of wisteria and privet that we've been diligently clearing from the farm. Watch as I fire up the pile, aiming to cleanse the land of these invasive species.
However, nature has other plans. A sudden, heavy thunderstorm rolls in, cutting my brush burning short and forcing me indoors. The video takes a cozy turn as I take refuge inside the 140-year-old Byrd Farm House. Experience the soothing sounds of rain and thunder while we explore the charming, rustic interiors of this historic home.

Good'm Fire Olde Byrd Fam Chief Roberto. Too Bad rain came early. Let there be light. Kudos on having electricity now. Imagine in the 1930's whim many famers got electricity on their farms & how they felt. My grandfather, born in 1884 lived to long enough to see 1st car, 1st airplane, T/V, man land on moon. When I ask him greatest invention of his lifetime, it was getting electricity in farmhouse in 1934.

My grandpa was born in 1908. He lived to 2002. He saw the first cars, the first plane, WWI, WWII, the landing on the moon, the ISS, and the new millennium!

hat was one very nice fire, Robert, Can't wait til you can go back to that same area and knock down more privit and take out more westeria to enlarge that field. The rains will be good for all the seeds you planted, and great also for all those peach trees as well. We Have a steel roof here on our home, in upper northeast illinois, and though I love the sound of the rain hitting it, my little dog doesn't, she is scared of the rain and thunder. With all the recent Tornado's going on, thank God you and Dan and Scott are all ok there. Praying for all those in Okl;ahoma and other places that have been hit by them..

We had nasty thunderstorms come through Central Alabama last night between 12-4 am. One of my dogs has severe anxiety with them. Even with her Thundershirt and medication, she had a rough time. She laid on my chest, while I was sitting in the recliner. I even had the TV sound loud to help drown out the thunder. We finally were able to go to bed around 4 this morning. Luckily, there was no damage. Usually when storms like this come through, I have limbs from my trees on my property. My fence in several places have been badly damaged in the past.

Robert, Having electricity really brings the Byrd House back to life, especially during that thunderstorm. I used to sit on the porch our 27 acre farms Victorian farmhouse and chill out. Out here in Ferndale, WA we rarely get heavy rai or storms. Thanks for the indoor times. Cheers, Rik Spector

I live out in the sticks in Chatham co. NC. Its around two am watching this in my old shack I rent from a farmer. Place is old no insulation its getting down to 50 tonight so I am running a space heater to keep the chill out. I call this place the old turd farm
