I hear ya on the ammo rant! Take it from an “old timer”, next time it comes down in the off season, buy it cheap and stack it deep! I learned my lesson years ago about prices going up! As soon as it went back down to almost normal prices I got enough to last my lifetime and pass it down to my kids when I go! LOL It’s nice not having to worry about it anymore.

Dame in Pennsylvania your rifle season starts the first Saturday after Thanksgiving its 2weeks the 1st archery season runs all of October to mid November so its wired seeing green in gun season then 2nd archery and flintlock runs day after Christmas late December to late January

Nice buck for sure - congrats! You said neck shot, but looks like a shoulder hit? Also, at one point you said “ I don’t know how lethal a neck shot is “ then why would you take one?

Thank you for your comment. As far as the neck shot comment, what your seeing is our collective Barnhill men tendency to self doubt every shot we take. If you haved watch any of our archery hunts, you will notice we question our shots. It's an odd quirk we need to over come for sure, as we are always careful and trying to make quick lethal shots. As you saw, the Buck was hit well and died very quickly. My brother only took the shot, when he believed he had a good shot to take. But he's just like the rest of us Barnhill's, after he pulled the trigger, he started questioning things in his own mind.

If you have to question whether or not a buck is legal by the size of his "horns" he's not legal. Either are you, and should stop hunting until you can correctly identify what's growing annually out of it's head lol

Not sure to what part you're referring to? We previously saw a shooter come down the hill and at first glance behind the small doe, we assumed it was the same buck. Obviously when it came into clear view, we immediately saw it wasn't a shooter and infact not a legal buck to shoot in this part of Missouri. In most counties in MO, bucks have to have 4 points on one side to be a legal buck.
