Surf fishing early morning is THE BEST Surf fishing you can do! I went surf fishing in Sargent TX. The surf here is much different from other parts of texas. It is a very clay-ish beach, tons of rock, seashells, and concrete. Hurricane Harvey and Imelda did some terrible destruction at this beach.

We bought a place there this year. I love that beach. I hope they can get old stubby put back together soon so we can use that as well. They’re planning on putting a jetty in at the cut at the end of that beach along with breakwaters where you were fishing. Thanks for the videos man, your knowledge has upped my fishing game.

Use to love taking my burner and grill to rollover 😭😭😭 by 7am I would have the burner going with some chorizo and eggs! Spam and tortillas…. In the evening right before sunset the grill be smoking with fajitas or burgers! 3-4 days of fishing… miss that!

The drone has been coming in clutch. There's days where I don't catch anything on a cast out, but will catch on a well placed bait that has been flown out.

A red over 30 inches is called a bull shark and are prohibited to keep. I think it's about how they are the breeding or breeders of babies more often or something. I don't know why he didn't measure it though.

@@Greenhelix5 in Texas you're only allowed to keep two bull redfish over 28 in per year. After you catch a whole bunch of them, you have a pretty good idea when you have one over the limit. The ones over 28 in generally begin to have pretty coarse, strong flavored meat. They're not as desirable for the table. And yes, it is because those are the breeding size fish. We are allowed to keep three redfish per day, between 20 and 28 in. That size fish is better table fair, as well.

Hopefully someone reads this, but I got 80lb braid(main line) tied to about 15 yards of 100lb mono as a shock leader, which is tied to about a 5’ 170lb steel leader line. Got it paired with a penn 6500ss reel. I don’t plan on bringing in 12’ Bull sharks but do you guys think it’ll catch decent sized black tip sized sharks? (I know there’s other factors like knowing how to set drag properly and what not but that aside do you think the gear itself will work well enough?) thanks in advance to anyone who replies. 🙏🏼

That would work. However, you might want to look at putting a bit lighter line on the reel. On a 6500 size spinning reel, I generally use 50 or 65 lb braid. You get a lot more on it, which will extend how far out you can fish. I prefer conventional reels. But I have got plenty of black tips up to 6 ft, on reels that have just as much line and drag as what you're using.

I meant when it comes to surf fishing. Takes the fun and the gratification of catching a fish from surf. Now I understand if someone is disabled or elderly and still enjoys surf fishing. Another way you could go about it is to use a kayak. Just my 2 cents sorry 🤷🏻‍♂️.
