I love your channel and rarely miss! But change can be good. Just don't go away! With a rock tumbler, you want the dull, rough rocks. Or even glass. Use an old bottle and break it with a hammer, carefully. Shiny glass makes sea glass. A rock tumbler makes shiney into dull or etched looking. And makes dull into shiney. Also make sure the rocks or pieces are of the bigger size as it does wear them down in the process. They are lots of fun! Very LOUD, but very fun!

Just a caution - it may not be legal to collect beach rocks. It is illegal in many places in both the US and Canada.

That is so true it is illegal to remove sand from the beach. In the 80s we used to take the sand free from people that lived along the beach. The sand would build up on their driveways and had to be removed. Now it is illegal to move it from the lake location. Our resorts have so much sand piled up that they no idea what to do with it. It sad that the municipalities have to have such laws. Happy New Year.

In UK we call those pebbles. Rocks to us are way larger.

Laura, I have noticed that you're not riding ..if at all ,lately. Don't let fear (or age) deter you from what you love. I'm your age and used to be that way. Now i ride my gelding with a bareback pad and just a lasso arou;nd his neck. If you have to start from the ground with Penny ..just take your time ..or there may come a day when your regret that you didn't do things just because fear has blocked you from having those great experiences. just my 2 sense. It's a sensory thing, she doesn't always have music on I believe. I've mentioned it before to Laura and she agreed, like how Gabby always has long sleeves. My son with asd always has his headphones and long sleeves to help his sensory issues. My daughter keeps her headphones with her for if she gets overwhelmed with sounds.

Laura I love all your videos. No let me rephrase that. I love 98% of your videos just being honest. I truly loved the variety from home, to the barn, to the shopping and to the lessons. Yes there have been annoying ones as well. You know by my comments it's not always your videos. Some are are based on some of the commenters. Does this make sense. Can't wait to the new year and your changes. I have found many beautiful rocks on our Lake Erie shore. Georgian Bay had many colorful ones as well. I even found a few with fossils in/on them. Plus arrowheads. Those I found interesting. Ellie sure blended in with the stones. If it wasn't for her jacket i would have missed her lol. That was interesting that they put down a tarp for people to walk on. The sand must be really soft there. The lake was sure quiet. That would be beautiful at sunset. The old saying is Calm Before The Storm. But the question is from which direction is it coming from and going to. I made a comment on Songbird comment. I hope you read it. I have been a rockhound all my life. Were I live I can't have a rock tumbler. To loud. So some that were in a river and are smooth I polish with sandpaper. Takes forever. 🙃🤪🤣

Canada spans from the Pacific to the Atlantic, so beaches on both sides. Also, many lakes and rivers!

In Ontario Lake Erie and Lake Ontario is two of our biggest lakes the Saint Lawrence River is also one of our biggest rivers spending from the East to the West which have locks to maneuver the elevation to one Lake to the other. The Welland Canal is a system that has locks for ships to go through to connect Lake Erie to Lake Ontario which is south to north. Also our greatest river is the famous Niagara River which forms the Niagara Falls. The honeymoon city. All countries have lakes and rivers other wise it would be flat with no adventure. Every mountain every hill has a water accumulation of water whether it is a lake, a pond or a puddle. I think you would enjoy reading about the land. It is a real different experience.
