For those that skip through this video without watching it's entirety, the "Big Changes" we talk about in this video are about RV parking near the Las Vegas strip and Freemont Street, not so much about camping changes. 👍🙂🤓

Amazing, in 2005 I stayed at MS station campground. Registered at the hotel , campground was $12 per night or $60 weekly! We paid the $60 and I told the desk clerk we would leave when tired of Vegas or broke. I put $10 in a poker machine mounted in the bar, hit for $1200, sprang for that great buffet for the family, left town with the rest of their money couple days later. Warm place in my heart for Main Street Station to this day! Love your videos, keep them coming.

The algorithm brought me by, I'm now subbing. I'm on my 3rd RV. First was a '29 C, second was a 39' A (the Moneypit), and now I have a 29' bumper pull toy hauler (for my Can Am Spyder). We full timed 5 years in the C, and a year in the A. I'm finding that Vegas is wanting a higher spending clientele, more spending per visitor, or "quality over quanity" Have you stayed at The Oasis, on South LVB? That was my go to, but my last rate check was $100 a night. So, I'm glad you pointed out the Main Street Station property, that may be my answer. Looking forward to more of your content!

We always stay in our travel trailer at the park at Nellis Air Force Base. It's far enough off the strip to be away from that scene when we want to be away, but also close enough if we're going to see a show or an event. Thanks though for sharing what you've found with trying to find low cost accommodations.
@LivinRVision8 ай бұрын
Actually, this video was mainly about RV parking near the strip and Fremont Street, not really camping. We usually utilize our Thousand Trails membership when we are away from the strip, just to save money. We used to park at our favorite free parking spot and go for walks on the strip in the evenings because it forced us to get a longer walk. That has gotten harder to do now. The mall is really the only free place close by.

@LivinRVision8 ай бұрын
Yes. We do every time we go to Vegas and did after Main Street Station. It’s ok. A place to stay for free (with our membership). We’ve been there quite a few times and haven’t had any problems, but some others have. We’ve been there in the 40’ Class A (Vinny) and the Airstream (Stella) and the van. We didn’t mention this place because it didn’t fit the title of our video. Thousand Trails Las Vegas remains the same.

@LivinRVision8 ай бұрын
We always utilize our camping pass at Thousand Trails since we can stay there free, but we had to stay at Main Street Station the week before our reservations. This video however was about changes made for parking near the strip and Fremont Street areas. We like to walk in the evenings when we can on the strip and it was nice when we could park free at our “usual” spot and get a good walk in with a dash of people watching. 😂 Lake Mead is too far for us for nights that we work too late.

We’ve never camped in Vegas. We have thought about it. But I love the hotels in town. Is this a trend that you are seeing in resort areas? Limiting the number of camping opportunities? I have noticed that HH has reduced the number of available spots in wine areas. Specifically Temecula and Paso Robles.

Vegas is no longer an inexpensive place to visit. It was also interesting to see "No Electric Vehicles Allowed" at many of the casino parking garages :-) We stopped by the Caesars palace bacchanal buffet last year and they give you 90 min to eat and get out, and it was, I think, a $90 per head.

Whenever we visit Vegas, we camp at the Government Wash Campground on Lake Mead. We get into the Lake Mead Recreation Area for free with our America the Beautiful pass. You can stay there 2 weeks for free, which we prefer anyway as it's in a pretty, peaceful wilderness area outside of town. By that time, we need to dump and fill, so we go to the Las Vegas Bay Campground for free dump and fill. Last year we stayed at the Las Vegas Bay CG for a couple weeks for only $10/night with our old fart pass. You could also stay at the Callville Bay Campground, for the same price, which is about the same distance from Government Wash in the other direction (farther away from Vegas). We like the nearby Henderson Casinos too (The Emerald Isle Casino has the best ribs and they're cheap). Henderson is not far from the South Point Casino, which has the best buffet in Vegas, IMHO - that is if you are willing to wait in a long line (because everyone else knows what a fantastic deal it is too) to dine there.

@@LivinRVision Yes, I get it. But now that free/cheap parking in Vegas has become harder to find, I thought I'd give people who can no longer afford to park near the strip a free/cheap alternative to still RV Vegas on the cheap. Thanks for your channel.

It seems like they are trying to keep their parking lots from getting filled up with RVers using them as a place to stay the night. It doesn’t take many RVs to take up a lot of parking space. Could be wrong but that seems to be the case.
