I personally love the idea that these echo bosses could replace some older, mundane (or just bad) content, like KQ. That's what Leagues is for in my opinion; trying out zany ideas that are fun and maybe with a little work could be fun for the main game. im honestly really eager to see what the one combat relic, and the combat masteries end up being. That, and what meme builds might end up happening as a result (Ex: door meme build from last leagues). someone in the leagues discord mentioned that in the document we see tormented demons have boosted drop rates, but autoing wgs isnt listed anywhere. if wgs ends up somehow being awarded an autocomplete, and that also completes all of the prereqs, then blorva will be possible with V/A/F as wgs autos temple of the eye (thus giving access to levi)

I’m stoked for leagues I’m going Mory, Varlamore and Desert most likely unless the echo boss drops are game breaking. Varlamore as a support region and coloseum/vard makes so a lot of fun imo

For DT2 rings, you will still need F to get base ring and talk to peer the seer. We dont know if the peer the seer dialogue is locked behind Dt2 still or not...i assume not, but no confirmation yet

I'm predicting the combat masteries will be like a traditional MMO talent tree in the sense that you can choose to progress any of the 3 combat styles at any time, but stronger "masteries" of each style will be locked deep into the tree, so to reach them you'll have to specialise in one style. And if you want to make a hybrid build, you can also pick buffs from multiple branches, but they will be relatively weaker than sticking to one style.

I still hold the opinion that Varlamore should be given as a default zone with karamja and misthalin. I just feel there isn’t quite enough content there to compete with other zones. Give it to everyone this league, then next league when it’s been completed with part 3 then have it as an option.

I'm very conflicted about routing this league (assuming we specialize in one combat style mostly). Did melee in first trailblazer, magic last one, but that first one was forever ago and I screwed up my magic run. Zone wise, I really want to do varlamore because new stuff, and morytania because I've never done it in leagues. This seems like it would be mostly good for melee, but moons AFAIK is solid for all 3 styles.

Perhaps if the echo bosses are a hit this league the jmods will consider adding more awakened bosses throughout the main game. I always thought it'd be cool if awakener orbs became a currency and were dropped by more bosses and could be used to fight other awakened encounters. This could also give us different torva kits plus other cosmetics which would be cool. Some of the awakened bosses could even potentially be worth farming (such as an awakened corp beast) :D

On discord it looks like Melee Varlamore is the most popular path. Could you do a deep dive into varlamore? Some of us don't even play main game anymore and just come back for leagues. Also, how does melee set/weapon from varlamore compares to others, is asgarnia still a must for melee even if picking varlamore?

I want to see the combat relic buff all combat styles but prioritize 1 that you choose. Say you pick melee and it gives you additional 50% accuracy and 20% strength, it could then give range and magic a buff like 15% accuracy or something.

I hope combat masteries offer enough flexibility to build strong hybrid builds. If the combat relic is picking a style, then I'm concerned masteries won't really move the needle enough. If we still choose a style but just pick side bonuses for it, then how much better is it than getting it all in a single relic? Ideally, we can choose to either fully invest in a specific style OR diversify.

Totally agreed, I'm not against allowing people to specialize but I'd much rather try to build a hybrid setup and not have to do zulrah with no buffs.

@@doubleshine I think the ideal situation would be you make fully investing in a style be the peak of damage and at a minimum the different tick speed weapons get buffs so every region offers appealing weapons. Then you offer hybrid pathing that is slightly weaker but still strong for a league.

I don't think the older, objectively terrible bosses (coughKalphiteQueencough) should be removed from the game, but if this is laying the groundwork for alternate versions of these bosses that have identical kill times and drop tables but actually fun mechanics I'm all for it.

As a casual i love the leagues because i can try some bosses without fear of death and even if i screw up i can still win, last leagues i tried all wilderness bosses and the cerberus and it was very good, this time i will try ToA and perhaps one of the DT2 bosses, who knows, maybe i'm lucky?

The degree to which Mage spec has been improved in terms of freedom this league compared to last is insane. Good mage armor from 5 different regions on their own, Occult not required, Shadow from any raid, Virtus/Magus ring from just 1 region. Infinity set can SUCK IT!

Sadly I think Asgarnia is mandatory pick for melee. Dont think Varlamore is worth a region if you wanna pvm a lot. Sure you miss out on the Ultor ring but you get the Bellator and Torva, and the scythe comes from all three raids now.

Sounds like solo raiding will now be completely inefficient. To be honest they should boost solo rates to be on par with group rates at 500+, HM ToB, and CM chambers.

It's hard to say because it seems the goal isn't to make solo play relatively worse even if group play might be slightly more efficient. I think the point cap at ToA is coming back to 55% so groups or solo would hit that pretty easily.
