This was me that recorded this show on a camcorder, long before mobile phones were out I also have another recorded at HMV edinburgh around the Eclectic time, I have them both on original quality somewhere, unfortunately the tape ran out at the very end of rockin' in the free world

Stuart thank you, great to know who it was and thanks for your efforts here too. I have the HMV one too but the vantage point isn't quite as clear as on this one. Brilliant job being able to document these performances. 🙂

@@BC1000Stars I was a huge Big Country fan, yes HMV edinburgh is not as clear but sure the sound was really good, , I met them all again last year at Let's Rock In Dalkeith and took Richard Jobson into Waverley Station after the show in my taxi, Jamie got me tickets for the show in Glasgow a few weeks later as a thank you...

Stuart Christie, thank you for filming this and Andy, thank you for putting it on your channel. Things such as this are treasures to those of us who never got to see BC live with Stuart up front! Big Country were, and are still, accessible to their fans. ❤️

Stuart's lyrics were always way ahead of their time and songs like "We're not in Kansas" really should be heard by today's youth. GOD BLESS YOU STUART!!! RIP AND THANK YOU!

Whoever it was that recorded this, thank you! Brings back lovely memories. I was not at this performance but did attend the appearance they made at the HMV store in Manchester to promote WTLF. I still have my autographed copy of this album.

Thank you for posting this video, I was there. I can remember thinking how great one in a million was at the time and think this is the best version of that song. Such a great memory.

My birthday! Wish I'd been there vs where I was. This reminds me of a few places I played with pillars "ideally" located in front of the stage. Lolz

Haha isn’t it funny how your mind goes back to the first time you hear a song ? I kept waiting for the part on the final fling gig when Stuarts guitar died and his roadie ran on with the red strat. My brother has Days In Europa on vinyl and it has a scratch in one part of a track (cant recall which now) and every time I listen to it on the CD set I bought (one of my most treasured possessions) I am waiting for the skip...

Rumours were that Big country were going to release Rocking in a free world as a single.
@BC1000Stars4 жыл бұрын
I never heard that one. Interesting!

If I'm not too mistaken it was around the time of after Nplh that Big Country were thinking about releasing Rocking in a free world as a single

They recorded that version in April, 1992 so it fits the timeline perfectly.
