Great to see people discover the glory of my hometown heroes, idols and friends Big Country. Hello from Dunfermline Scotland. "That sound" was the beautiful guitar playing of Stuart Adamson and Bruce Watson. And, after reading the other comments a wee tip, NEVER use the word "bagpipes" when discussing BC's sound, it is a tremendous insult. They really don't like it at all. If anything, you are closer with your fiddle guess, combine that with accordion and you get the tonal style that BC produce. That was the majority of traditional Scottish folk music we Fifers would hear from our grandparents growing up, hence the unique Big Country Stuart Adamson sound. Anyway greetings from Bonnie Scotland and as Stuart always said, Stay Alive. 😀🏴👍🏴😀
