Great videos sir. If my Dad were still here he'd love watching as well. When Tims Ford Lake was being built near our place we would go watch them building a bridge close to us. Think I was around 10-11 yrs old. He'd load us up with RC colas and moon pies and we'd be there most of the day. Great memories.

Elementary physics....chain it at the 3/4 length of the pipe, or a length a bit less, so one end wants to drag low, then lift to barely raise up until the lower end is slightly off the ground, then go like hell.

You should tie a rope around one end and tie it off to the front of the excavator and then extend so the pipe stays long ways and it probably wouldn’t even swing near as much! Just my experiences hauling long parts with a cherry picker! lol that was funny anyway brother, you’re a character! lol

I have an idea for you to try, I know in the past these have at times led to disastrous results but I have had a few good ones in my life. To move that pipe down through the woods or where ever, take a big stout C-clamp, the more heavy duty the better, and clamp it on the bottom of the pipe at one end when you pick it up. Put the handle, cranking part to the inside. Take and tie a nice little 1/2 inch nylon rope or some such attaching strap to the C-clamp and lead the other end of the rope to the shackle point between the tracks or the cab or through the door of the cab. You need to leave enough slack so it can spin a bit and you can still turn and so the pipe can sway a bit. it might sorta work, I think.

We usually see a few dislikes from the Health & Safety Nazis when we see stuff like that, so I am surprised that there not is a single thumbs down as I post this. (It scored a couple of dislikes while I was typing). I did worry a wee bit when Tim looked to have his foot underneath one of the bucket teeth, but he must trust Chris's skills with the excavator 100%. It's _really_ good to see Tim more involved in the videos at last. Go Tim 🙌 ✊ 👷 🚜
