When it comes to taste in music, I don't think anyone's opinion is more valuable than others. Sure, Big Daddy Kane can rap better than most of us (if not all), but that doesn't discredit our personal tastes and opinions on music. I don't need to know how to rap or how to write lyrics in order to know what music I enjoy. Your doctor example is more based on science and facts. Music is more about personal tastes.

@@masemboross4996 Which is about your personal taste. To you, it might be Big Daddy Kane. To others, it might be Eminem. If you ask someone younger, they may not even mention anyone before 2010's. The new generation has their own stuff. Maybe they'll bring up Chief Keef or something. Which is totally valid, because we don't all have the same tastes in music, and each generation has their own music. If you go to a retirement home and play Wu Tang, they're probably going to consider it trash. They probably want to hear Elvis or Buddy Holly.

@hsVDhajBLWK Sometimes you get caught up in the rhythm of the flow, sometimes you're thinking about a previous bar, sometimes the pace is too quick for you're brain to focused on every single bar that comes out of a rappers mouth. Sometimes the delivery is so striking that you're not focused on the bar. I'm not a computer. Anyone who listens to rap will miss bars in songs, that's the joy of rappers with replay value. They pack so many gems that you can keep coming back and hear different schemes and metaphors each time. You may think you understand, and there's really a deeper meaning or multiple meanings. That's what great lyricists too and as a Cole fan since 2008, I'm glad he keeps raising the bar.

I like J Cole more he’s just more relatable and his music is more straight to the point. Kendrick’s music is too wordy, while I appreciate that, I prefer straight to the point lyricism

I wouldn’t say Kendrick is wordy. To me Black Thought and Papoose are too wordy. Kendrick is not too lyrical in that way. I think people just like his voice and delivery plus some lines he say don’t really hit me like that.

@@firstchain_prominencehow are you gonna tell someone else who’s more relatable to them, tf? 😂 gtfoh.. n I agree, Cole is also more relatable to me. Kendrick is slightly lyrically better with metaphors but cole is a better punchline rapper. K dot barely got punches. He’s not that type of talent. And they both super conscious artist. Two best since the 2010s

Comparing Cole and Kendrick is like comparing JRR Tolkien (Lord of the Rings author) to G Martin (Game of Thrones author). The former is a master craftsman building the cutest and coziest cabins all the way out in the woods. The latter is a master architect erecting monuments at the center of the city. It really depends on what you want.

A lot of the East Coast old heads don’t like Kendrick because of the Control verse. If Kendrick was from the East Coast, he’d be Biggie around those parts. I grew up in the beginning. East Coast old heads are very biased.

Cole’s been the best since 2009. Anyone that heard his come up, warm up and Friday night lights mixtapes knew it was coming. Every album he released has been fire too. But sideline story, and 2014 Forest hills drive were fire front to back. FHD is a classic

Depends on your definitions, and don't get me wrong, I was disappointed too, expecially since I think cole orchestrated the whole thing to begin with but that's a seperate thing But end of the day coles always wanted his music to speak for itself and it's all well and good that cole couldn't flatline Kenny in a Diss track, but if he can turn the fall off around and flatline him with an album that's just better than anything Kennys done then there's no arguing that "they'll look you dead in your face and really act like you don't do it at the level that you do it, that's why sometimes you gotta come through and just do it at the level that you do it in front of everyone's face" I know he hasn't dropped the fall of yet but my point is this apology doesn't mean he can't be a problem, he always has the option of simply being better than everyone else

@ImMimicute "flatline him with an album" 😂 Cole fans deserve all this cause yall have insane excuses for everything. Dot has 3 classics. Cole has none. Cole has a weak catalogue & Cole dissing TPAB caused all of this & you think....😂😂😂😂

@@mannmuzo1847 love an illiterate reply, makes its real easy, did you miss the part where I was talking about the fall off and made it clear the fall off isn't here yet? Did you also miss the part where I in no way excused what happened? Also, real talk, coles discog is WAY better than folks give him credit for, 2014 was kinda mid with a couple outliers but 4YEO was great, KOD was like a solid 7.5/10 and both TOS is an easy 8.5 and MDL is a solid 9, with the artistic development we've seen from cole I wouldn't be all that shocked if TFO was some crazy 10/10 drop
