When it comes to taste in music, I don't think anyone's opinion is more valuable than others. Sure, Big Daddy Kane can rap better than most of us (if not all), but that doesn't discredit our personal tastes and opinions on music. I don't need to know how to rap or how to write lyrics in order to know what music I enjoy. Your doctor example is more based on science and facts. Music is more about personal tastes.

@@christopher399we’re not talking about taste in music, we’re talking about who’s the best mc

@@masemboross4996 Which is about your personal taste. To you, it might be Big Daddy Kane. To others, it might be Eminem. If you ask someone younger, they may not even mention anyone before 2010's. The new generation has their own stuff. Maybe they'll bring up Chief Keef or something. Which is totally valid, because we don't all have the same tastes in music, and each generation has their own music. If you go to a retirement home and play Wu Tang, they're probably going to consider it trash. They probably want to hear Elvis or Buddy Holly.

@hsVDhajBLWK Sometimes you get caught up in the rhythm of the flow, sometimes you're thinking about a previous bar, sometimes the pace is too quick for you're brain to focused on every single bar that comes out of a rappers mouth. Sometimes the delivery is so striking that you're not focused on the bar. I'm not a computer. Anyone who listens to rap will miss bars in songs, that's the joy of rappers with replay value. They pack so many gems that you can keep coming back and hear different schemes and metaphors each time. You may think you understand, and there's really a deeper meaning or multiple meanings. That's what great lyricists too and as a Cole fan since 2008, I'm glad he keeps raising the bar.

That's one of the illest feelings in the world to have onlookers or people in the crowd recite one of your lines after hearing you spit a freestyle.

If people think J.Cole isn't great just because of Grippy and the apology, without mentioning his legendary albums/features, that's just Bad faith.

I like j cole but I would say he’s overrated in a way - that’s a tough one though- it’s hard to compare rappers with different styles - like 2pac and biggie = apples and oranges - how can you say one is better . You in the mood for the apple one day and orange the next

Real rap heads know what's going on, a lot of folks say Kendrick, yes he's very talented. But I always like the jcole slick edge sharp lyrics. Him and 21 my 2 favorite of this new demographic.
