Big Eliminator Highlights from Gravelrama 49!

Big Eliminator Hill Climb from Cleves, Ohio Gravelrama 49!
1st run- start at the bottom, if you make it up and over you get a 2nd run.
2nd run- start half way up, make it up and over and receive and 3rd run.
3rd run- starting at the bottom timed run, quickest time wins the class.
If no one makes it over on the 1st or 2nd run, who ever makes it up the highest wins the class.

Ya!! Totally awesome place back in the late 70s and 80s,my mom and dad had 73 CJ5 in the XC class in drags and the big hill. It was great family time

Hell these guys make it look easy back in the 70s hardly anyone made it over the top. Shooting for heaven in 77. Was a good year for these drags and hill climb. Looks like fun still!!

Last time we filmed there was in 17 or 18 and we asked about the hill. they said they shortened it and reduced the angle to make it more accessible for the lower horsepower classes. I was pretty disappointed in that. It seemed to have lost its prestige over the years and the crowd has dwindled down to a very small size. I grew up going there from 79 thru 2004 and it was wall to wall packed then came back in 2015 to film as i loved this place. Still an awesome place and a hell of an event but i sure would like to see a new and more difficult big elminator. Bring that prestige and difficulty back or even do some sort of formula offroad style if they could. World Sand Drag News did an awesome job on this coverage BTW.

@@Hammerdownproductions In 1977 Marty Robbins played a show and Bigfoot came and did some demo stuff he wouldn’t go up the hill after watching a few roll down the hill. Was a great time and I believe 4 guys made it over that weekend and they where all huge power and big paddle tires. No one made it twice. Yes the old days sad to see them go.
