I know they say the bags are safe but I just don’t know how I feel about slow cooking a plastic bag with my food in it all day. I feel like washing out the crockpot is not that difficult. That’s just for me. Plus they are an additional expense especially if you use your crockpot every day

I wanted to thank you for your great recipes and also educating us on how to cook for a large family and how to shop, plan, and freeze meals!!! Recently, our church mission team went to North Carolina to help some folks in need of serious house repairs. I was the cook!! I had to plan, shop, and cook for 15 people!! Your channel came up when I requested "cooking shows" and I am completely in awe of your organizational skills. You talk about your children and how you manage to feed such a large family. @Carol Scott, I know this is an older comment but thought I'd reply back anyway. Jamerrill has 9 children in total. They range in ages from 21 to 10 months old. Her oldest is married & doesn't live at home anymore. There are 7 boys and 2 girls. Jamerrill is truly a gem! You will enjoy watching all her videos.

You are so right put it out it’s up to them if they eat or don’t eat, I think with your recipes they won’t need much encouragement also, sitting at a table encourages children to eat a variety of foods as they watch their parents and siblings eating and want to try what everybody else is eating, they might not like it but they might like it but the important thing is they are trying various foods 💕💕

My Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker with locking lid has vents, I got it about 7 or 8 years ago, I didn’t know that I wasn’t supposed to lock it while cooking, have been doing so many years. I am glad you said something about it.

Any time I use something, or think of something I need,, I put it in my order. I don't check out, it just sits as if it's my grocery list. And then when I'm ready to do a pickup, everything is already in the cart. So easy!

I’m glad that you realize food is food. Waste not, want not. I believe that soup for breakfast is acceptable if that’s what you want! When my coffee pot or slow cooker are in operation I pull them away from under the cabinets because of the steam coming from the appliances. Maybe in your new kitchen you can have an area just for your appliances without cabinets above.

For years I struggled with making rice, and I am generally an overall good cook...at least for a home-cooking Mom. I couldn't make it any way I tried it and I felt kind of dumb because who can't cook rice. It would come out too soggy or undercooked in the middle. I tried the stove, microwave, a pressure cooker, a slow cooker and a cheap rice cooker... THEN got a GOOD rice cooker, and figured out that w that rice cooker I need to add enough water to it so that it's 1/3 inches over and covering all of the rice and it cooks perfectly and fluffy every time. I also add 1-2 chicken bullion cubes for flavor and it's so good you could eat that alone... finally. Thanks for sharing w us. I don't know how you do it all!

Nice you give options to your family. Growing up whatever is on the table is what you ate. You were not given a choice and we were not picky eaters. When my daughter was young I started to give her a choice and she was very picky. After about a year I said whatever I make and put on the table is what is for dinner. Either eat this or go hungry and suddenly she started to enjoy all kinds of foods. No more picky eater

I cut mine into large pieces, clean out, and steam them in the instant pot. Then puree in the blender (skin and all). I season and bake the seeds, then there is just a little bit of stringy stuff that goes to the chickens.
