I'm learning a lot watching these videos but I would love to see how these layered prints are used to complete a project. I am having trouble getting decent results with a gelli plate and even with having two books as guides I still can't seem to produce a professional result. Perhaps watching an entire step by step video that shows a project from start to finish could help take the mystery out of the techniques and materials needed to end up with a successful piece of artwork using gelli plate.

If anything presses on the plate long term it can indent it permanently. If they came that way, I would’ve returned it. They will affect every print you make and there’s no way to get them out

Grateful for you and broke. Can I make opaque paint more translucent without eliminating hue?
@ElizabethStHilaire3 жыл бұрын
I don’t think you can make issue paint more translucent due to the nature of the pigment. You can try applying it thinly or adding water. It depends on the quality of paint you are using. Golden, high quality paint, will dilute pretty nicely but opaque pigments will never be one totally translucent.

I had bought several smaller gel plates that did not come in clam shells, they came from dickblick, the only thing they had to keep them clean were those mylar sheets. They store very nicely sandwiched between them without any damage whatsoever. Perhaps you have experienced damage by using the mylar sheets in conjunction with the clamshell. But just using the mylar sheets does work.
@ElizabethStHilaire2 жыл бұрын
As per the manufacturer, the mylar sheets are NOT meant to be used to store them, they should be discarded and the plate should be stored in the clam shell alone, without the insert and without the mylar. :) I was a creative team artist for Gel Press, that was part of our training, and it says the same on the insert for care and storage. Just to let you know.
