🔥 My album "A Life in Black" featuring this song is out now on all online music platforms. Get it here! 🤠 👉🏻 distrokid.com/hyperfollow/chr...
The seventh song for my ”A Life In Black: A Tribute To Johnny Cash” series is here! "Big Iron" is originally written by Marty Robbins. Johnny made a cover of it at the end of his life that is just amazing. Singing this song really brings me back to 2019 when I did "Redemption".

LYRICS
To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day
Hardly spoke to folks around him, didn't have too much to say
No one dared to ask his business, no one dared to make a slip
For the stranger there among them had a big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
It was early in the morning when he rode into the town
He came riding from the south side, slowly lookin' all around
"He's an outlaw loose and runnin'", came a whisper from each lip
"And he's here to do some business with a big iron on his hip"
"Big iron on his hip"
In this town there lived an outlaw by the name of Texas Red
Many men had tried to take him and that many men were dead
He was vicious and a killer, though a youth of twenty four
And the notches on his pistol numbered one and nineteen more
One and nineteen more
Now the stranger started talkin' made it plain to folks around
Was an Arizona ranger, wouldn't be too long in town
He came here to take an outlaw back alive or maybe dead
And he said it didn't matter he was after Texas Red
After Texas Red
The morning passed so quickly it was time for them to meet
It was twenty past eleven when they walked out in the street
Folks were watchin' from the windows
Every body held their breath
They knew this handsome ranger was about to meet his death
About to meet his death
There was forty feet between them
When they stopped to make their play
And the swiftness of the Ranger is still talked about today
Texas Red had not cleared leather for a bullet fairly ripped
And the ranger's aim was deadly, with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
Big iron, big iron
When he tried to match the ranger with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip

Hi Christian Larsson, I'm Italian, I listened to almost all the songs you have on your KZbin channel! I met you thanks to Red Dead Redemption 2! Great video game! I like the soundtracks you have interpreted much more than the original ones! I hope that for the next chapters, Rockstar Games will hire you to compose songs! I congratulate you ... you have all my respect from Italy! Since you are now carrying songs from Jhonny Cash, it would be very nice if you brought Ghost Riders In The Sky! I hope you don't mind this advice! God bless you!🤠

Just got back from listening to Jonny Cash’s version, and must retract my previous statement of the lacking verse detracting from your cover. It’s a perfect tribute of him. I’ve only recently started to explore Jonny Cash’s music and other artists with a similar style to him, so I was unaware of it until now. Thank you for your reply and the information.

Growing up hearing my dad singing Marty I saw this cover, and man you nailed it. Well done. I'm a fan of the rich timbre of your voice and how easy you are to listen to, no strain, no reaching, you're just there. Really nice projection too.
