Big Kid Quiet Time Boxes

Big kids quiet time boxes are such a hit at our house! The way that I can get a breather during the day is having quiet time boxes for my kids. We use the big kid quiet time boxes everyday while I get some work done. The kids play and get some independent play while working with their quiet boxes and I too get some quiet time as well to knock out my to do list!

This has been a lifesaver! I still let my 6 year old have some screen time during little brother's nap, but he has to play with the quiet time box for an hour first! And he's only allowed screen time while brother naps because brother is too little for screen time. It helps limit the use a lot.

Thank you for sharing your ideas. Your youngest reminds me of my youngest grandson, always moving. ☺️ I’m always looking for ideas to keep my grandsons, ages 8 and 11 busy and inspired because their mom also works at home. I’ve sent numerous chapter books, science books and cooking books. We’ve also planted a garden in their backyard. 🥰

I think when teens you are going to have a single box to gather them together with you to spend time together each day.

I have an almost teen and I love this idea! Teens can have a screen free box/shelf/drawer that has their current books or magazines they want to read, you can also get books with sudukos/crosswords/etc, their choice of art supplies or something creative they like to do, handheld puzzles, a diary, yoga mat and yoga blocks (permission to use screen for music or a workout!), a basket of bath and nail care products, basket with sunglasses, hat, towel, a cool cup, a snack, a book and sunscreen to go lay outside! Collab anytime :)

Def gonna have to make these cause Mama needs some quiet time after a long homeschool day!! My kids are 5 &8 so we might also do playdoh, wiki stix (or the dollar tree equivalent), or magnatiles.
