At the end of the day there’s no excuse for driving under the influence. Sleep it off, stay in a hotel, take an uber, have a sober friend pick you up etc and situations like this wouldn’t happen. Not to mention her other tweet back in February 2021 stating “Bitch I was drunk barely made it home”. It’s safe to say this was normal behaviour for her and apparently one she found hilarious. I believe the reason why people were showing the young woman no mercy is because the amount of times she’s tweeted about drinking and driving and being reckless at it. Nevermind the fact she tweeted right after she was let off with a warning. We’re grown and cognizant of our inebriated state of mind. Three innocent people loss their lives by a woman who boastly tweeted how great of a drunk driver she is. I think she dealt with a drinking problem, but that’s a different convo.

Now, I DO agree with artists like Bree Runway need to get support (I have a long list of medium to darker brown artists who should), and I also don't run to support people who get a disproportionate amount of support based on being closer to whiteness, AND I only listen to female rappers. However, PLEASE stop lumping mixed and biracial and non-black women in with black women; it dilutes your messaging and support for unambiguously black women from two "fully" black parents. Putting them in the community is what causes colorism because we're told we're all black when some of us look differently and more white, ergo, closer to the predominant standards of beauty, which is white, not black.

But to be honest brown skin women have it a little easier than darker women because they never get teased about their skin complexion like some dark skinned girls have to go through. Most brown skin girls wouldn’t know how that feels and also, most get chosen over a darker skinned women which isn’t fair and most lighter skinned women get chosen over brown skin women all because of a skin color😒
@samiradavis53412 жыл бұрын
This is why biracial people should not be considered black. Y’all over here placing them in the light skinned category and one parent isn’t black. Two black people create black people. Back in the day, Megan would not have been considered dark skinned
@liahriley7732 жыл бұрын
@@SugaSuga008 I agree but lets not dismiss or downplay that everyone person who not light skin experiences colorism. I am brown myself and grew up hating the color of my skin because of my surroundings ( white & biracial ppl). Although not completely a darker skinned woman being the darkest one in the room is still a thing. I’ve had a teacher legit accuse me of being dirty for no reason at all ( maybe that’s a lil racism too) Ive learned skin color is subjective… I’ve noticed being brown light skin ppl usually call me dark … while darker skin ppl call me brown or light

Meghan is close to my skin color I think the only reason Meghan wouldn’t be considered Light skin is because phenotypically she looks “Dark Skin” but her and Yara Shahidi are the same complexion.

We definitely should identify biracials correctly and stop including them with black women because it creates even more colorism and confusion but can we stop gatekeeping light skin like it’s some coveted prize. I always see comments on videos like this and it’s so disheartening because people miss main points just to strip someone if their “light skin” card…. “She ain’t light tho!” Like it’s a special club or something. Some of y’all only accept that title if they’re Gina’s color from Martin down to albino. It’s ridiculous. A light skin black person is LIGHT BROWN, and there can be a spectrum and it’s subjective and relative. Y’all have tons of shades for brown and dark but as soon as it comes to light skin y’all act like there are only two shades and y’all include biracials.

Justin.....PLEASE stop referring to non-black women as black. You were talking about the top black woman rappers and named Doja, Latto (both biracial) and Cardi (white/slightly mixed race latina). Neither one of them are black, so they are not considered black women rappers. You're perpetuating the one drop rule, and with your support for black women i would assume you would understand the difference between black and non black.

I hear you on that Justin coming from a prominent white city the drunk 🥴 driving and accident happen more among white folks and sometimes they’re look as victims than kllrs So I stand with you not dragging this girl… but it’s Sad 😔
@mirrormirror1282 жыл бұрын
It was that tweet about being the best drunk driver or sum dumb ish like that she posted...now I’m not gonna drag her but I understand those who do. She celebrated her degenerate behavior, but what’s real messed up is the cop that caught her doing 110 in a 50...she should have been off the streets then, maybe the loss of life would have been avoided.

I will continue to drag anyone who drives drunk. Especially when you brag about driving drunk right before killing 3 people. Everything can’t be a “but what about white people” thing. I promise you can hold black folks accountable for being monsters AND be against white supremacy.
