I have been searching for this game forever. I'm 35 now and I have vivid memories of being 4 years old and playing this with my dad. Can't believe how strange a memory feels when it is so long ago.

I also played it aged 4... Only my mum remembered the games I played back then, and sadly she's no longer with us since last month. She was pretty handy at the original Hunchback game, too :)

I am so happy that I found this. It brought me back to an age where a loved one was still alive. I've been reminiscing and crying a little.

Very happy memories indeed. I was showing my daughter random C64 videos to show how good she has it compared to us as kids, and suddenly I was bawling, and she came over and hugged me and said 'she knows what to buy me for my birthday'. Good memories AND a good new memory.

I had this as one of my first games i bought on the C64. It was $10AUD in Australia. Amazing game i played many times. Nice to see a longplay. It seems i was about a screen away from finishing it back in the day.

I was trying to figure out how far 5 year old me got. Those bouncing ball things were my nemesis - so I guess three or four screens from the end.

I remember asking my dad to buy this at a petrol station on the way back from a karting race meeting. We got back home very late, probably after midnight and so I couldn't play it until the morning. I must have got up at 7am to load it up and what a game!!

This game, to this day, has one of the most fluid controls of any platform jumper I have ever played.

I used to play this game on my C16 for hundred s of hours, alternating with my father and we used to beat each other in regards to the farthest level we got to for months. It's one of the very few, good C16 games.

I don't know why but I always liked the sprite delays at the beginning of each level.

I have dear memories of this game but do blame it for a former electricity phobia! Though we don't see any in this video, the deaths were sudden and dare I say... shocking :)

Oh, those levers were infuriating! Especially ones like this 5:25 Mess up on this one, and there's no fixing it! You have no choice but to wait out the timer and do it all again!

hehe yeah - some of the final levels are extremely tough. I love the way his hat comes off his head when he falls; a nice little touch. I didn't actually own this on the C64 - I had a Commodore Plus4 before I owned one and this was one of the few games that actually looked better.

Huh, never had this, and it seems interesting. I'm not watching the entire thing, I want to try it out blind later ^^

It's a decent example of its kind, which means it's bloody hard 😉

Errrrm 14:57 collision detection removal cheat in place?
@AL82RetrogamingLongplays9 жыл бұрын
+figurehead1971 Nope - no cheats were used. The lightning bolt sprite inverts as it travels and it's possible that on the next scroll frame that it's just not touching part of the character sprite that counts as a collision. Either that, or it's a glitch in the collision detection.

There's a glitch in some levels, if you cl8mb a ladderlike wall and disappear, you come out from below.

i was just playing this! the first game i used on winvice!!! i found it very easy. in the eighties, it was hard with the quickshot 1. which computer is best for games? c64 or plus 4?
@6581punk4 жыл бұрын
C64. The Plus 4 games are often C16 games and therefore only take up 16kb. The plus 4 and C16 were never intended to play games and only became popular for that when Commodore dumped the lot cheap with many ending up in eastern Europe which had a huge scene.

i like the game, but the switches were badly designed and right pain in the a$$. maybe hitting down, or down and fire to simply turn them on and off rather than doing all those acrobatics.
