I just came from a Chinese KZbinr who got invited to test play a few months ago. He said between Dark Souls or GoW series, Black Myth is more like Monster Hunter with Level designs. Also navigation is going to be similar to Elden Ring, that you have to patiently explore maps, no mini map, to level up to get new abilities as well as obtain armors/transformations, sometimes hidden, that will help to exploit bosses’ weaknesses.

This and the fact that few is known about the quest structure. They've been focusing a lot in the combat system, which I think is great (don't take me wrong), but from that aspect (storytelling, quests, etc) of the game there's barely any info to make conclusions.

I just hope it's not the monotonous boss rush that some have made it seem to be. Bosses are great but if there's one every 10 minutes they feel less and less special. Having explorable areas with smaller enemies helps flesh out the worlds of games imo.

I think that came from somebody playing one stage of the game and saying there was a boss fight every 15-20 minutes. Hopefully that is just that one level and it isn’t indicative of the whole game.

@@DaRealPookieRay yea, the main one we play as swings his staff at something and the Wukong we see on the nimbus cloud stops it with his own staff, which has the nimbus wukongs staff display symbols that illuminate. The one we play as looks surprised too. It’s such a quick scene, I missed it until I saw someone do an analysis on what the game could be about.

Is that health bar for all transformations together, or does each transformation get it's own health bar? In other words, if the health bar on the poison creature transformation runs out, am I stuck as Wukong's normal form, or can I still transform into the tiger with the fire powers?

You can have only one of those active at the same time, so once the health bar runs out you'd be stuck as wukong till the cool down timer is up.

From what I understand transformations are in a single category altogether and you can only have one transformation equipped so until maybe the skill might be on like a cool down timer is what I think so when the skill cools down you would be able to transform into something else as long as you have that selected.
