Your dodge promaster comes off the Mercedes line. They are expensive to work on and not everyone can work on them. Fords can be worked on pretty much every where and cheaper to work on. Lots of things to consider
@myBIGtinyhouselife2 жыл бұрын
You're thinking about Sprinters not the Promaster. There is such a thing as the Dodge Sprinter that's made by Mercedes. My van goes to my long time mechanic garage and it's no difference than when I used to bring in my Echo.
@Metoo11112 жыл бұрын
@@myBIGtinyhouselife OH! That’s sure not what I was told. I just sent you an email asking How do you like yours. I really actually prefer the pro master over the Ford myself. Thank you for getting back to me.

l like the first sofa/bed because it looks good and so much more importantly, you choose your own mattress! Love the kitchen sink/counter because it's stainless and so it's lightweight and you won't have to worry about a counter top. The sink is a good size as well. l'm always surprised at how many van dwellers do not take advantage of either the driver or passenger seats! They've been built for comfort which is probably better than anything you can buy that will fit into the limited amount of space. Oh wow, l'm excited for you, Adalina!

Awesome! That is a very cool adventure. LOVE travel, and it's been 18 months without. Arghhhh! I suppose you are aware of Lady Bugout and CheapRVLiving on KZbin. If you aren't, I recommend them for ideas for building. It's great that you have a basecamp already. I've been watching some nomads who are looking for permanent roots. That's hard. What's the story behind your doormat? Do you forget things? As for Ikea, I used to go there to check out their wooden furniture, and then go home and build it myself. It was very satisfying to have the sweat equity. Pieces weren't as beautiful, but they better fit my needs. Look forward to catching up on your adventures. Cheers!

It is so wild that so many of us who have dreamed of tiny house living tend to also eventually make the additional plans to do part-time van life explorations. I have been sometimes obsessing and planning on having my own tiny house for more than 15 years. Now, at age 62, I almost want to do the van life travels first, before I am too old. All in all, I think that these are very positive lifestyle changes, and it is so helpful to have the support of others like yourself who can share their journeys and practical advice.

Before I settled on my plans on building a tiny house late in 2020 I seriously thought about van life for some time because of Covid-19. I knew that I needed a way of protecting myself from my active duty lung injuries so having the ability to adapt to ever changing information and science it totally made sense at the time. I like your van choice especially with the built in shower with toilet that is a must for me too. The biggest complaints that I have heard from other van builders is the lack of squareness for counters etc. I also like the swivel seats in the cab idea for additional seating for dining or for doing office work. One design that I saw was from a lady who added a laundry chute behind her head board where the laundry would fall into a container in there "garage area" beneath the bed to limit odors. There are definitely a lot of creative people out there. Your thoughts about the Mercedes is spot on... even though their engines can last for hundreds of thousands of miles and get better gas milage the repair costs, diesel exhaust, and other engine requirements can be expensive. Don't forget about Habitat for Humanity as a resource for used counters, or counter tops, or other hardware etc. Good luck and keep us posted with your progress I can't with to see how it goes!
