The MacBook Air is gonna give you more bang for the buck as you have Mac OS vs iPad OS (which is extremely limited - even though you may see the same apps like Safari, Word, etc - the iPad has a "mobile" version of these apps which are not same). So with the MacBook Air you get to use real apps. It's also very light. In fact - just picked up a M1 iPad 12.9 and it feels the similar weight to the MacBook Air - yet heavier cause it's just a screen). What you miss out though is Pen features on the iPad. From the release of the M1 iPad everyone thought that the iPads would soon be updated with a more desktop class operating system. A number of years after it hasn't. So will OS 18 be that change? We thought that about 16 and 17 - and yet = nope.

I would much rather have power... It already has great battery! I have the 2019 Ipad Pro, and the battery still works great, even if its a daily driver, with maybe 2 charges a day... 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening at around 17:30? Power though still need sooo much more!

I have the iPad Pro with M2 for just a year now, but already thinking of upgrading, if M4 & AI is onboard on the new iPad Pro including software which makes it useful. I'm now using NotebookLM with uploaded books and articles to ask questions & use summaries. Also OneNote using AI on the iPad would be great, since I'm using OneNote already for business and personal more than 10 years.

I’m actually excited for this announcement. My iPad Pro 12.9 2017 still works great but the battery life is starting to become suspect.
