I'm a ready mix driver here in Atlanta GA. I've watched all your videos yesterday and just finished this one. Im thinking hard on moving to the pump side. I really love that peterbilt truck too! Your awesome.

Love, Love, Love the Peterbilt truck!!! Suspension wise its definitely a little "lighter than a Mack, but in terms of creature comforts there's no comparison. Makes a long day that much more tolerable. Thank you for watching the channel.

Mannnn!! Can we get a cab view while to drive to your next job? If yes, can you talk about what to watch out for while driving a boom pump truck etc?

Super interesting! I would imagine all blacktop is not created equal strength wise as well…. No way to know that though I guess. Keep the great content coming!!!

Plastics deflect, you don’t have an even load on the entirety of those secondary pads, not to mention if the ground was soft underneath they are likely to try to split and allow the top pad to push down through. Since we are talking about operator liability here.
@canadianconcretepumper19792 жыл бұрын
The yellow pads are not plastic. They are a composite material which is extremely rigid in comparison to traditional thermoplastic pads, and are backed by a signed engineers letter (which we keep a copy of in all pumps). We moved away from plastic pads for exactly the reason which you state. Checkout dicausa.com for more information.

@@canadianconcretepumper1979 interesting, I like it thank you for the link. On those new Putzmeister 38-5s I feel like I never have enough room for all my stuff, where do you store your extra pads,hoses, clamps etc?
@canadianconcretepumper19792 жыл бұрын
I hear you there, there was definitely some head scratching happening when we first took delivery of her. . We wound up having a hose tray built from sheet metal for storing 20’ lengths on the passenger side (we can actually get about 250’ on there now). Passenger side we built a custom rack for clamps and dunnage. I’ll do a video walkaround one day soon and post it.

Learned something today!!!!!!!

It’s a super easy equation and becomes almost second nature once you get into the routine of it. So easy in fact, that a grade 11 dropout, concrete pump operator such as myself can even figure it out 😂😂😂

Hey there. Would it be possible for you to add a link on those 18*48 pad you use? It's the first time I've seen them and I think they would be a splendid substitute of the wooden block we usually use. Thanks in advance

Keep humble, always be respectful of the equipment, and never get too confident/comfortable as that's when we cease learning and can become eventually dangerous. You will learn something new literally every single day in this constantly evolving world of concrete pumping.

Interesting calculation. And I do agree with your sentiment about the outrigger and ground. BUT, sir, you do forget one important factor. The weight on the outrigger is only maxed out when we have a flat boom over that outrigger. The way your mast is pointing now, you dont have 44000 lbs on the outriggers on the opposite side. At this point, you do have all the weight on the front outrigger on the gravel side. Off course there is weight on the outriggers, but the farther away from the end hose, the lesser weight there is. So my guess is, that the 24x24 pad is sufficient in this case You do have a nice pump! Very clean! In comparison to my pump!
@canadianconcretepumper19792 жыл бұрын
This is true. However, whenever possible all outriggers should be treated as fully loaded as we've all been in that situation where the contractor has ordered too much concrete and says "can you just swing over to the other side of the pump and catch this footing".

@@canadianconcretepumper1979 yes! Very true! I mu self uses the pads 90% of the time. Place planks, mud mats or steel plates or whatever come handy when needed and required.
