1. Dont use the default tips as they make it sound too bassy. Use the straight white tips. They improve the bass quality, open the soundstage and bring the mids up a bit. Again dont use the stock tips with short opening. 2. Also the cable will be sold separately by 7hz in upcoming months, the price of the cable is $69! I prefer the steaight-ish pure white tips as they improve the sound even more.

I find all the included tips slippery. Doesn’t stick in the ear well. In the end im using a CP360

i’ve just spent a weekend comparing the AE to the original. i think they tried to make more bass sound as good as possible, but it didn’t work on this driver. the bass boost comes at the cost of reduced clarity and low end tightness that made the original cool. when i listen to the ae, i feel like i’m listening to beats headphones, if that’s your thing. i put on the OG, and the rest of the frequency spectrum comes out from hiding. it sounds well balanced. it works with more styles of music. i’m a fan of the HD600s so i know i prefer a “flatter” sound. and i wanted to like the AE so bad!! i was just having more fun with the music on the OG, so the AE is getting returned.

Yeah i just listened to it on Dans Audio Reviews and while the AE has more bass it just doesn't sound as pronounced, my Timeless are here tomorrow, i have the OH10s at the moment, will decide between the 2 but the OH10s have to much treble for me at high volumes and can be fatiguing so it looks like the Timeless are king for me at the under £200 mark!

@@iDTecKt Just watched a few reviews and ordered the AE. 30 minutes later I watched Dans Reviews and ordered the OG Timeless. I was torn between the Timeless and the Moondrop crinacle 2 dusk but out of stock everywhere. Timeless 2 is coming out, but preorder only with no release date. They have good reviews but I'm getting these as a Christmas gift and can't really wait. This is an upgrade for my wife from last years upgrade. She had cheapo RCA's or something. I hate earbuds and prefer over ear. She's the opposite, so after ordering her some cheap AKG over ear's and realizing she used the ear buds more often, I upgraded her to the Klipsch R6. Slightly better than the RCA's but ear piercing highs IMO.....like an icepick in my brain. Amazon rang my doorbell at 5:15am to deliver the AE (Saturday, overnight shipping. So much for sleeping in). The OG is supposed to be delivered today as well. I wasn't going to even bother opening the AE but since I'll have both in hand, I'll do my own comparison with my music preference FLAC files and see what I think. I like more bass, but the AE sounded muffled compared to the OG in Dans Reviews. It still sounded good, but when compared back and forth, it was obvious what it was lacking.

Yeah yeah yeah. It all sounds wonderful. But practically no comparison to the original Timeless makes this review a bit pointless.

IEMs are the polar opposite of open back over ears. So why not go for a fun sound signature instead of trying to emulate proper headphones. Open backs naturally have more accurate sound, and IEMs naturally have more sound pressure / bass.

i have dt 1990 and recently got the 7hz timeless ae and i can tell you for what i do which is gaming the timeless ae is much better in every aspect clarity details imaging and i was shocked because the dt 1990 are 3 x more expensive and now i have 800 headphones collecting dust

So, is this better for gaming or movies watching compared to hook x HBB? Even though this one is closed back, unlike the hook X hbb?

Yes they are better than the hook x HBB. But do use the straight white tips for better imaging, soundstage and bass and also bringing up the mids a bit. I personally dont like the hook x or the hook x HBB that much. I love these! I have used em both, kept the ae to myself.

@@ammarramadhan3575 haven't tried the heyday. But I would guess they are a more flatter version of the ae ? With a bit of wonky mids ? Many do prefer the heyday some prefer the ae. Its a small risque you have to take. For me the timeless ae is like an endgame type of iem, they sound so good! Well well worth the price imo

I own IEMs solely for gaming purposes, and I have both the Original Hook-X and the HBB Hook-X. I also owned previously the Original Timeless. The Hook-X's are Planar OPEN BACK with bone conducting bass rumble. In terms of Soundstage and Imaging, the Hook-X is basically wallhack mode for gaming, way better than the already great Timeless, though. Timeless is more so for music, and it has decently large soundstage, but not close to open back Hook-X. I also use the Hook-X exclusively for movies as well for it's even bigger soundstage and tonality. Timeless also have this imbalanced tune, with overwhelming bass/sub bass, which muddles the sound for dialogue and footsteps in games. If you are serious about gaming, then you'd know that open backs are the go to for soundstage and imaging for gaming purposes. Just as Timeless is an end game IEM for many music listeners, the Hook-X is an end game IEM under $1000 for gamers. Hook-X = Gaming, Movies. Timeless = Music, Movies.

Have u tried the og?.. I mean the 1st model.. The clarity is Gone with the new one.. Yup vocals clarity gone in ae..Timeless is king of clarity planar but not dis.. peace!
