I like making unique stuff, and this is one of the few out there with this setup, proud to have it.

Glad you enjoy them! Great to meet you out there too and see you shredding up the track. I enjoyed my upper class as well, wish I had made it to finals, but next year.

🤭The comically large wrenches got me rolling out of my seat. :) Much love, so much love, I would have prob done the same thing. 😉I like the how you didnt go all the way through the deck. I supposed grip tape could cover that area or a 3D printed part, but to me seems professional to counter sink it like you have done. 💁The Adaptor, could you not just add a grub screw and drill a small counter sink into the hanger/axel? This might solve the issue with slipping.

Haha thank you bro! The only downside to not going all the way through is that you can't drop the heim bolts all the way. It seems to have made a big performance difference though, and I think my enclosure might scrape if I made it lower. As for the adapter, I think you could, but on this setup with the large jam nut, it hasn't slipped a single bit

You almost had an excuse to make it 4wd, even if one end was kinda janky. You should put a pic of the setup at 29:50 on the pictures only thread on the forum because it does look amazing.

Haha you're right - I actually have 2 more BN gear drive sitting around too, I could switch the front end to the OG hahah Thanks! It does look pretty slick there, maybe I'll post a screencap - thanks for watching! Only thing, for 4wd I would need to change the solos out because I don't think there's room for 2 more in there

@@RBEMotion You could even mix different VESCS and/or top mount one (hence why I said one end might be janky). People use 4wd reachers with smaller packs and 6384->6485 isn’t much of an improvement compared to 6384+6485 so make the purchase worth it and go all out 😉

Great job on the DIY! I'd like to replace my plastic stock BN wheel adapters w/ those metal ones you have here. Didn't realize that was an option. I'm assuming I can buy them on your website? Also, I need to go back in my bn m1-at gear drive and redo the backlash to the new instruction of Very minimal space. I'm assuming it will be difficult to re-adjust since I've the locktite in but I'm hoping a few mins w/ the heat gun will do the trick? Also noticed the wheel spacer I currently hv on from the bn gear drive package is bigger than my truck axel; do you have the correct size for the Hypertrucks? Thanks! Enjoying the new gear drive so far but hoping readjusting the backlash will get rid of some of the rattle?

Thanks for watching! These metal adapters are actually not an option, they're super old at this point, and the steel ones I've got on it here were an even more limited run between the original aluminum star adapters, and the new plastic ones. Theoretically the plastic ones should be strong enough and wear less than the others, but I've had really good luck with my steel ones anyway. Readjusting backlash shouldn't be too hard since you just have to loosen the motor bolts. For hypertrucks I think you need 12mm spacers right? I have never worked with them.

Hey man after watching ur video and looking at some DIY boards and some builds of the year on esk8 im really tempted to do a DIY similar to your Black mamba i was deciding between the atlas pro and onsra bc3 for a while and cant chose which is better and neither has everything i want, so what could i get for roughly $1600 in terms of DIY would i be able to build a board like yours?

Thanks for watching! DIY is definitely very possible nowadays. I think you could build a pretty decent 12s4p board with P42a for that cost. Makerx ESC, flipsky motors, VX4 or puck, belt drive. Definitely possible!

So whats the actual difference between the short rod 3 links and the normal one? When is ir nore preferable to use one of the other?
@RBEMotion
@RBEMotion 4 ай бұрын
That's a great question. The way I see it is that the short links are more responsive, and can be used on different decks than the full length ones. I haven't had the chance to try them out yet though.

@RBEMotion you think they are also good jn a general purpose setting. Or exclusive to racing
@RBEMotion
@RBEMotion 4 ай бұрын
@@Thec0nv1ct777 I think people can enjoy them in either situation, but they're racing focused. I don't find 3 links in general to be as fun as some other truck styles, however they are still good for general purpose as well.
