I cant believe the conditions of the trucks/motors …so glad you are brave enough to do a honest assessment…plus actually talking and showing the neg and the positive of the board ..so refreshing huge thank you

Thank you for watching and for your feedback! I felt like people deserved to know the whole story - while it is not a board I would buy for the value point its at, it's still quite cool, and I hope I did a good job of showing that combination!

I agree, it is quite stunning, I haven't seen anyone try silver and red before, and it works really well together.

I got the defiant: One. I loved the board at first but after about 100 miles the gear drive broke and i was going about 30 and got the most and worse road rash Ive ever had (almost had to get skin grafts) but the board was fixed for free and Damon replaced almost everything including the remote. I rode it for just long enough to get comfortable on it and the geardrive broke again and this time smacked my face on the street going 27 and had to go to the hospital and got road rash again over my just healed skin and im scared for life physically and mentally. Not sure if im going to ride ever again. I live in phoenix by the canal bike trails right by the airport. Your review was perfect in my opinion and also are you in AZ?

Wow man I'm sorry all that happened to you! Pretty rough to see the drive fail twice. I think belt drive might honestly be better for it haha. Nope I'm in Cali! Thanks for watching and I'm super happy to hear my well rounded opinion was appreciated

Holy shit damn so when the gears break the skateboard will lock up? Thats so damn dangerous
@RBEMotionАй бұрын
@Frankgonzalez-hj7bm it is definitely one of the failure modes. That is the downside of gears over belts. When a belt snaps most likely you'll just lose brakes. And even at that, usually both don't snap at once. In a properly designed gear drive you should never have to worry about a gear breaking, but when they're this close to the ground and some design variables are overlooked, you can have cases where a lockup is a possibility

Some might view this as a bad review for this board but i think it's excellent. Defiant's first board and like many, they just have to keep developing from the original until it's perfected.

Thanks for your feedback! Worked hard on this one, and while it was a long time coming, I think it will be valuable to a lot of people.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the Defiant One vs the Mach One purely as street boards (I know the M1 can be fuzzy in how you classify it, but it definitely has street board bonafides). Though I'm in the middle of this giant review, so maybe you do. (Definitely not complaining about the long length! Bring on the content!)
@RBEMotion4 ай бұрын
Radium themselves have mentioned multiple times that it is a street longboard. For the price, if you ignore Defiant's markdown, I would pick the Mach One 100 times out of 10. They're on such vastly different levels in terms of tech and polish, I think Radium really knocked it out of the park. The Defiant is still cool, but it doesn't really compete. The only thing it might have on the Mach One is range, since the Mach one is 12s4p. Thanks for watching the extra length video, I felt that it was important for me to cover my WHOLE experience with the board in this one!

@@RBEMotion Awesome - that’s what I was thinking. It’s good to hear other people’s thoughts who’ve had firsthand experience with the hardware. Minor correction - the M1 actually has a 12s6p!

More interested in Defiant vs AceDeck Ares X3GEAR. smaller battery but the X3 seems to have more power, and much better gear drives.
@RBEMotion4 ай бұрын
@@esk8news328 That would definitely be an interesting comparison - I'd love to get my hands on one, but it probably won't happen for a while. Acedeck is very sparing with their review units

@@BlownMacTruck You're right, my bad. In that case, there is 0 reason to pick the Defiant ahha sorry!

Seems like a lack of locktite issue from the factory. Also pretty sure you can adjust the angle of the gear drives, so if you run low angle at the back then you probably need to disassemble the gear drives and mount at a different angle.
@RBEMotionАй бұрын
There are more than just loctite issues, I think the motor choice is a fundamental error. You may not be able to adjust the angle, it may be set. Something that could be checked though, and you are right, if you wanted to run the trucks in the flat angle, it would be the best idea to adjust the gear drives if that option is there.

Hey did you experienced overheating? An is it possible my battery series setting isn't supposed to be on 9
@RBEMotion3 ай бұрын
I actually never experienced any overheating, esc, or motor, even on large hills. It seems they set their motor and battery currents right to avoid that. Your battery series setting should be on 12.

Do you know a good motor guard for the defiant skateboard?
@RBEMotionАй бұрын
I don't believe any kind of motor guard is offered for these drives.
@APESK84 ай бұрын
it might be a design flaw. Motors being so close to the ground, and magnetic. If you roll over anything metal. the motor picks it up and it wedges between the motor and the hanger. If this is correct they're going to have a lot of motor issues.
@RBEMotion4 ай бұрын
Yeah that is definitely a concern, I think since they are spinning so fast, metallic dust doesn't get stuck to them too much, but you are right, sometimes things get jammed in there, or bounce against it. This does increase the amount of dents the motor cans experience, and at the end of the day, appear to accelerate their aging.
@APESK84 ай бұрын
Looks like the motor is so close to the hangar that any rock that gets in between them gets crushed and damages the motor.
@RBEMotion4 ай бұрын
It does seem that way, but it is the best feeling way to ride the trucks, in my opinion.
@APESK84 ай бұрын
@@RBEMotion so it just needs a bigger gap so small rocks or sticks can pass through, or some sort of deflection guard so that nothing can get caught between.
@RBEMotion4 ай бұрын
