must say we're enjoying your videos. No ponderous musings. No random statements without context. And so refreshing---no constant, annoying music in between talking. Please don't follow other youtube channels filling every second of silence with unnecessary and annoying music. And I like the humour. Keep it up. Remember, everything seems daunting and the work incessant. Until you tackle it and then it's done and can be struck off the list.

the outboard is a mercury 6.6 2 stroke. You need to add 2 stroke oil to the fuel or the engine will seize within minutes of running. Also it looks like it also needs an impeller for the water pump. Cheap fix but necessary. Love watching you guys have all the fun :)

That’s absolutely right. I’ve got an ancient 2hp Mercury Mariner 2-stroke. The oil ratio is 50:1 (2%). I’m putting in a new impeller tomorrow. A few fiddly screws and bolts involved, so take care. But once you fix it

@@WildlingSailing French or other nationalities, sail people know the importance of community. *En France, comme en Espagne, la voile est un mode de vie*. Sailing is an adventure by itself. Yep, I caught myself going, "No no no." I mean it'll work in the short term, but then they'll have to replace the aluminum and that can be expensive. Now, that said, I don't do this work, I don't have experience, it's just what I've seen over and over. If you threw a buffer in between, say, leather or something like a gasket, would it still have the same issue?

Hi Guys, You are doing an awesome job and I love watching the videos. Just a small idea to consider for the future when you were sitting in the driver's seat one notices that you are open to the elements, meaning in a strong storm you will get rather wet, maybe consider a clear strong plastic shield so that you can see through and it stops the water splashing all over you. You are almost ready the rudder is looking so good, solar up and working, keep going. Thanx for the great laughs and making and sharing the experience. Cheers Craig Easton (from sunny South Africa)

Good morning @wildlingsailing!! Not one to normally comment but just to add my voice to all those giving you every encouragement, advice and good wishes they can. Its just SO good to watch you tackle all these problems .. its really how you get to know your boat and learn so many new skills. Its also a HUGE safety factor. It goes without saying you are going to find yourselves in bad weather and bad situations at some point in the future - that's just the way of sailing! But by then you will have the confidence of really knowing your boat and be confident in how strong it is, what it can take and how to fix things in an emergency. That only comes from the experience and hard work of fixing and repairing. Keep going .. you're both doing great!!

Not sure how long it lasts in a marine environment. Easy fo bolt together and cut. Not bad with jigsaw, a skill saw and a router would have been better. I would still use a router on the. New table edge. Eventually you will want to make a hard top Bimini.

Brilliant work guys, finally caught up to the point where it's almost worth putting in a comment. If your solar regulator decides the batteries are full and needs to dump the excess into a load you could run the excess power into a DC heater element in your hot water tank. You do have a hot water tank? You certainly have space for it. Put it as near to the shower tap as possible, so you don't waste water waiting for the hot to arrive. Looking forward to the next instalment. You're living the dream I never had the courage to follow...

Looking good I must say even though I had little faith at the start. Y’all can start your own sailboat company after this project you’ll have the experience lol

So is that a 2 stroke outboard? If it is it didn't appear you had 2 cycle oil mixed in with the gas. It would be a good idea to change the oil in the lower unit. Should be 2 big headed screws with a flat head. 1 on the bottom is the drain. The other is the vent and filler hole. This is several inches above the drain. Both on the right side. Oil is a 90 weight gear oil. To fill it there is a pump for lower units.

I could be wrong but I don't think the outboard is any bigger than a 6 horse unit. 8 horse and above usually doesn't have room for an internal fuel tank.
