BIG ROACH FISHING

This is an in sight into my tactics that I use when targeting large windswept waters after bream and roach. This session is a much more raw style to my normal uploads. I concentrated on the fishing, enjoy the fast paced action and active style. This type of fishing is very enjoyable in the colder months as it keeps you moving around and constantly busy.....its also a nice chance from motionless carp rods!

Hi there, I have another question for you please. When you have cast out to the line clip, do you unclip the line in case a bigger fish hooks itself? ( then reclip before winding in) I caught a Roach/Bream Hybrid on this Helicopter rig, thanks. regards Paul.

I use distance sticks to wrap up to the distance I'm fishing, clip the line into the line clip then cast out. Then unclip the line and put it back in the rod rest. Distance sticks are used in carp fishing for accurate rig placement, if you've not seen them just search on KZbin 👍 hope that helps.

Hi there, like the video. I have some questions if you don't mind answering for Me please. What weight is the feeder please? Also, I like the look of this rig but our club does not allow fixed rigs, although I would think with only a 3lb hook link and the rubber stops which can move easily under slight pressure its quite safe. Also, Am I right in thinking there is No need to strike? Would this also hook Perch safer and stop deep hooking? regards Paul.

35g feeder. It's not a fixed rig as the stops slide off the mainline in the event of a breakage/cut off. It's a bolt rig, so the fish hook themselves again the weight of the feeder and the tight line. No need to strike. Don't use this for perch, it's not sensitive enough. Hope that helps.

@@TheFishingBloggers Thank you for your quick reply. The water I want to try the rig on has perch, that's why I asked. I want to target the roach and bream and not the perch. I know perch have a habit of swallowing deep so I thought this rig being a short hook link may stop that if I am unlucky enough to have a perch take the bait. regards Paul.

@@plreeve it should be spot on for that. You will catch perch but normally it hooks them in the scissors. Generally perch will spit the bait as the feel the resistance.

The Fishing Bloggers thanks. Fished it a couple of weeks ago and had quite a few bream and some very nice roast the end of the day. My mate was sat less than 10 feet away and didn’t have a bite all day😆 Will be back again on 24 th March as it’s my mates birthday and he wants to try again
