My zafira is whistling at high rpm as soon as I got a new exhaust 😢and it’s the year wear I fix it. Hopefully I can do belts before Santa pod

That's to bad. Mine has done 120000 miles on the original engine and is still nice and quiet. But it needs new valve stem seals so will give it a total overhaul and put in a quaife diff when I have everything apart

I would be surprised if that was the issue. Sure the rod bearings look worse than the mains but not really enough to warrant such noise. Measuring crank and bearings would be my next move. Not familiar with Vauxhall engines but money my is on problems with the ballancer shafts or thereabouts. Great channel though! Keep up the excellent content.

Thanks for watching, I thought it was the balencer shafts so removed them in a previous episode and it made no difference

what was the reason for the damaged bearings?

I haven't got round to inspecting the crank further, but it had done 170k miles so I suspect it was just worn

I was wondering at what point you would realise you can't get the rear timing cover anyways without taking the cams out or pulleys off, and then it came haha. Such a poor design! Bit of a strange one that, I would take that crank into work and give it a measure, see if it is oval or not. I can never rest untill there is a proper diagnosis!

😂 yep, so much on these z20s is bloody annoying, I've still not become a fan! I will measure up the crank eventually to see what's actually wrong, closure!

@@SuperRon I still get upset that the subframe has to come off to get the sump off, I know it's common on alot of cars, But just the slightest bit of thought would of been nice!

No it was making the noise before I removed the balancer shafts

It was most likely slightly worn before but didn't notice it at the time
