Glad I bought a '17 Crosstrek because I couldn't find a '18 manual. Mine only had the brake light switch recall. 40k trouble free miles so far. Exceptional snow performance, that's why I bought it.

People are also driving less in 2020. I predict we'll see problems come to light in 2021. I loved my impreza, it burned oil from day 1 and I spent a fortune in repairs over the next 5 years because I didn't want to give up on it, finally got rid of it when the transmission went out at 110k miles. For comparison, my 1992 Chevy Suburban is still running strong on the original engine and transmission.

I have a 2019 Crosstrek, manufactured date, 06/19 . As of today there is no recall. I check the Subaru site and the NHSTA site everyday and nothing comes up. Remember model year and manufacturing date can sway the interpretation of how these recalls are being reported. In actuality the dates involved can be very small, like a 4 month production run but the entire year gets flagged. Case in point, I got an e-mail just this morning stating there’s a recall for 2019 Crosstreks. It came from the NHSTA however it does mention looking at the Vin number which is critically important in recalls. I’m not overly happy seeing the number of recalls out there since this is my first Subaru however I’m happy to see Subaru is fixing their problems. I traded in a 2015 BMW 4 series for my Crosstrek and is you want to see a poor job of backing up a vehicle problem go look at how BMW handled the N20 engine problem. (timing chain guides disintegration)

I have a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. 86k miles and currently at the service center undergoing a complete engine teardown to determine a hard idle low power issue. Prior to this, I've had to carry oil with me at all times to top off oil prior to scheduled oil changes. Unfortunately, Subaru did not find any oil consumption issues with my car. I'm currently working with Subaru advocacy to determine the core issue. I'm praying they cover all repair cost out of warranty. I truly wanted to like my Subaru, but it unfortunately has been one of the most expensive cars to maintain that I've ever owned. Couple this with the ongoing oil consumption issues and now the complete engine teardown, needless to say, I'm a bit skeptical about Subarus engineering.
@justinp78245 жыл бұрын
the ignition coil recall is simply a ecm reflash, and in extremely rare cases replacing individual coil packs when damaged..
@automotiveantics5 жыл бұрын
I'm not that familiar with Subaru's. I simply read the recall sheet that Subaru issued. All info gave straight from them

@@automotiveantics actually now that I think about it, I can see the exhaust manifold being a concern only if the car has been misfiring for an extended period of time, because the catalytic converter is in the manifold. But in my experience we haven't done a single exhaust change because of this issue, I haven't even seen a misfire yet.

I just traded in my 2017 Impreza and it had all the recall items completed by the dealer. Those things had not caused me any problems … BUT 4 months ago the right rear wheel bearing went out, had it replaced under warranty and then last month the left rear wheel bearing went out also under warranty. The bearings are inside the hub so the whole thing is replaced. If I were paying for it, it would have been 500. per wheel. I was a big Subaru fan and it does have a cult following, but now I'm seeing lots of problems with all the models. WHY doesn't Subaru corporate address the wheel bearing problem ?? I called corporate and they didn't seem to know it was a problem with not only the Impreza but the Crosstrek. Subaru had better start stepping up to the plate or they are going to lose lots of loyal car buyers.
@Bxtskul1l5 жыл бұрын
The bearing problem has been a long ongoing issue. Had to do all of them on our 05 Outback when it was 7 years old. Corporate liars.
@christianhernandez91724 жыл бұрын
Alot of the problem is how fast Subaru is growing. It's a fairly small brand compared to others like VW or Chevy. They have had exponential growth in the past few years. Selling more and more cars a year, a problem will rise eventually. You also have to keep in mind the manufacturers as well. Sometimes we get bad new parts. Alot to keep in mind.

Firstly, why does any Subaru owner need to watch this ? If you bought the car new and it needed a recall, Subaru should inform you directly that certain models may or may not be affected. All you need to do is ring your local dealer and give your registration details and THEY will tell you FFS. Even if Subaru have not sent you a mail, perhaps it was a second hand purchase, ring the local dealer anyway and ASK if there are any outstanding recalls !!! How hard is that ? Do you need mummy to hold your hand as well ? Some numbskulls on here. Seriously, do people not have any common sense these days or what ?!?! Secondly, its only an observation but why do so many men talk in high pitched voices on KZbin motoring videos ? Its hard work listening.
