I instantly thought of Bruce Springsteen when I heard the haunting way Adrienne Lenker sings this song. Then did some research and read that the band was listening to Nebraska during the recording of Capacity. Adrienne confirmed that Springsteen was indeed a huge influence for Shark Smile.

I remember when Mythological Beauty was released as a single, I was suuper excited about the new record, but I thought "This song is great, but I know something better is approaching". THEN they released this masterpiece (no, not THAT masterpiece.. That's a great track/record too), and I thought "Here it is.
