When I was 8 my mother showed me and my brothers how to work the washing machine, how to separate darks/whites. We each got a day to do our own laundry, we where expected to change our bed sheets and duvet cover. I really appreciate that my mother taught me and my brothers this level of self sufficiency and it did not ruin or traumatize my childhood.

The girls did a marvelous job with the organizers! So cute and very smart way to keep all of the tiny little accessories up and out of the way of the vacuum cleaner. On the rug cleaning, I always spray Scotch Guard after the carpet is dry because cleaning takes away the protective layer and they get dirtier faster without protection.

Hey Joanna! Greetings from Germany! Here is the minimal (2 adults + a cat) laundry routine that I have come up with and that works fine for me. I have two designated laundry days. On my "cleaning day" I usually do the big laundry. Namely towels, bedding, blankets, etc. On the second, either Saturday or Sunday, I do all our clothing. Tumble dryers are not really a thing here in Germany since space, especially in appartments, is limited and there is just enough room for a washing machine. So I use a folding drying rack. Naturally, doing laundry takes longer but it works.

I love cleaning and folding laundry but my absolute favorite is organizing a closet 🥰.

I have 5 kids. I have a dirty laundry basket in each kiddos' room and they each have a clean basket in the laundry room. As I fold laundry it goes right into each person's basket and when a basket is full I have them come get it and put the clothes away and bring the basket back. When their dirty laundry basket is full I either grab it or have them bring it to the laundry room. This has worked really well for us.

Usually do all the kids clothes together and don't usually sort them! If something is really dark I will put it with the adult clothes. Not sure why I do it that way, but that's how I do it! HAD to get my dryer fixed today and he said " Now you have to do laundry!" ok with me, it's my favorite too!

Oh LORD! 😂 I did laundry growing up for my whole family. I was the oldest, and we were a family of 5. Whatever I needed to be clean from then to early adulthood meant that I had to pick up the slack from everyone. As a result, I became a minimalist both with having less clothing and using less clothing. As a lady in my 30s, I enjoy laundry BECAUSE it's only mine and it's NOT a big ole mess ❤️❤️

I bought a Bissel carpet cleaner like 17 years ago. It's like one of those you use to rent at the grocery store. It's heavy but it always gets my carpet super clean. I actually shampooed some of my carpets today and I was thinking that it still works as good as the 1st time I used it. I have used it hundreds of times over the years. I love it, but if it ever quits on me I will be getting that Hoover. I told my husband we should think about replacing our carpet and he said why, they look new and they are not that old. I told him we got them when our daughter was 13 and she is now 33, lol. It pays to shampoo your carpet often because it keeps them looking great!!

We have a hamper by the washing machine, when it's full it gets shoved in the wash, I'll hang it to dry and then once I've folded it into piles everyone comes and grabs their own pile and puts it away. My kids are 5,6 and 8. They've been doing their own laundry since they were toddlers haha we have no dryer though so everything is air dried and it takes FOREVER! Especially in England where it isn't warm most of the time haha

I do laundry now the way you do it. I used to drag everyone’s laundry upstairs to fold but now fold it on the washer and dryer like you. Some loads were smaller then others so it seemed like a waste.

He's been doing other stuff for almost 4 years now and he still has a couple shirts in the back of our closet that smell like a kitchen 🤣 my 9 year old is finally to the point where she can help me with it and it makes things sooooo much easier.

My parents own a Professional carpet cleaning company & they do what is called Hot water extraction cleaning. I have had portable cleaning machines all my life & heating the water gets your carpets so much cleaner. It doesn't shrink or hurt it in anyway, unless its wool. ~Samantha

I have a 3-bin laundry sorter in our closet for my husband and I, so we sort our laundry. My kids have learned to sort their laundry as well before doing it, though so,times it’s sorted by type rather than wash, lol. As for the pockets, if there’s something in them, it gets washed and dried with the laundry, lol. More often than not it’s LEGOs, but sometimes my chapstick gets washed 😂

i'm obsessed with my grandson! he makes my heart sing loud and proud. he's going to start kindergarten in the fall, and I'm so torn between being thrilled for him and being sad for me 😂 he's my Beau! straight up conniptions! wish I could say I only drink one RC a day...let's just leave it at "your comment section would have a field day on me!"

I still live with my mother but I do my boyfriends and my laundry separately from my mothers laundry (sometimes I put some of hers into the machine as well if I still have some space left) I separately wash dark, colours and sometimes whites if I have many. We hang dry our clothes especially in Summer. I wash our bedding and towels separately as well at 60°C. When my boyfriend and I stay At his parents house I also wash our clothes the same way.

And I always need to check the pockets because my boyfriend always has so much stuff in it. When I find coins I put them in our savings and by the end of the year we bring our coins to the bank. Last year we made 45€ out of it:)

We have a dirty basket that everyone dumps everything into and then generally at night time ill sort it out into our dirty washing baskets. We have a dirty basket for normal clothes. A dirty basket for towels/pjs/cleaning cloths etc. And a dirty basket for blacks. When each basket is full, then that's the load I wash. I dont have a routine for certain days for certain clothes/loads. I like the visual of it being sorted.

I do my husband's laundry separate bc he hates fabric softener. He works in a sand pit so I have to take the pants and hoodies outside and dump the pockets of all the sand. I wash our daughters and my clothes together but separate dark and light. I have to check my pockets and hoodies for tissues lol. It's a huge mess if I forget. We have like no whites so no bleach needed here.

With a 6yr old and a 4 month old. I do it by person now. I do my 6yr Olds laundry on Saturday and my 4 month Olds laundry on Mondays. They both have more clothes then my hubby and I combined. I also do sheets on Mondays. I do our laundry Tuesday and towels Wednesday or Thursday. Towels usually get done a couple times a week so days vary..both of.my girls have sensitive skin so we use free and gentle tide on everything

I love your videos! Kind of a weird off topic question...what is your wall color? I love how neutral it is. We are getting ready to paint the inside of our house and paint colors are driving me insane! Lol

We keep a laundry basket for each bedroom in the laundry room. We only have two kids though so it probably would work better for you to do one for each kid! I just fold the laundry through the week and put it in baskets and it takes about a week to fill baskets and then I just go and put it away one basket at a time. Amazon sells stacking laundry baskets too. That might be a cheaper way to go while you trial run it.

I nanny for triplet girls and their older sister. I was the girls clothes each day (and sport clothes) bath towels every other day, kitchen towels, beach towels and bathing suits each day, sheets on Fridays. If not summer kitchen towels with bath towels. Their mom's clothes every 3rd day. I love doing laundry.
